Gee that number 8 for Norwood has an elite leg on him, could be a handy AFL player :) Westies are an embarrassing side to watch, its all about trying to restrict and not being proactive and the coach would rather listen to music than his players.

You do realise that Collins uses his headphones to speak to his assistant coaches...

Good to see CEY continue to come along - Ex-cellent (wrings hands).

Salter is definitely a class above, worth another crack up forward. Don't think we need him but a Carlton or a Collingwood could use him.

And how spudworthy is D.Stewart, couldn't get near it - justifying his #8 in Mofra's Bottom 50.

Disagree re Salter, we could definitely do with some genuine KPF depth, at the moment we have Walker, Jenkins and I suppose McKernan, the rest are 3rd tall types at best.

No, you can find a lot of average 18 year olds and the odd player who ends up being quality. I usually don't like spending such picks on mature aged guys, but those two, if they've got their heads in order, could be extremely good AFL players and not just role players.

We have found a ton of gems in rounds 3 - Rookie in the past decade. Id rather take a chance on another 18 year old. Then hope a good state league player can make it.
Save the state leaguers for late rookie pick ups as insurance.

If Nathan Gordon decides to set his mind to it, he should be on an AFL list. Has x-factor and reminds me a bit of Wingard.

Agreed Gordon has all the tools to be a very impressive AFL footballer, if hes around for a late pick id take a punt. Was good t see former Crows Von Bertouch and Martyn has reasonable days for the hybrids too.

Lots of talk about Trav Tuck on here too, had one of his down days today unfortunately but still think he might be worth a rookie spot if hes around.

We have? 2001 no longer counts as "in the past decade". Since then our record in the later rounds has been average at best. On the other hand, our record in the early rounds has improved dramatically since Fantasia was sent packing.

Another great game by Grigg. Couldnt blame him for putting the cue in the rack and thinking about next year, but he is putting in still. And CEY could be anything if he wants to be. He is my 2014 Laird.
We could throw Salter on the Rookie list, as he has talent and could kick on.

What does that say about me.
I remember a Pennant Hills vs East Coast game in 2007. I destroyed the shit out of him head to head.

I don't know, we haven't been too bad. In the last five drafts we've brought in, from rounds 3 forward, the likes of Sloane, Laird, Wright, Henderson, Hartigan, Lyons and Shaw. Not to mention second-rounder Grigg who, in a normal draft year, would be a third rounder (pick 41).

There's also been some value in Callinan and Jaensch, and any of Ellis-Yolmen, Atkins and Siggins may work out too but it's a bit early to tell.

Interested in West's selections.
Brad Kirk ahead of Peter Nelson......

the day you try and wrap your head around our team selections is the day you go insane. i think we've had one unchanged side since collo took over.

didn't matter how we lined up yesterday, it was one of those days. zero intensity from the first bounce, everything going against us in terms of the bounce of the ball, players not willing to pressure, etc. part and parcel of games where we play them. it's always a 15-20 minute period where we drop off and we get belted. nothing to do with tactics, how we lined up, we just got belted, pure and simple. and i suspect whoever plays them in the grand final will get belted too.

I think it's safe to say he really needs a new tactic besides flooding. You don't believe it's tactics, I do.

a few guys stood out yesterday.
Obviously Grigg had a blinder, didn't look like he had an opponent all day.
Suckling also played really well and I reckon has a good chance of getting picked up in the AFL.
For WWT, CEY seemed a class above, played an attacking role out of defense and looked to have time & the ability to shrug a tackle.
The last couple of weeks I have also been impressed with the Roosters Miles in the ruck. Doesn't look tall but has done a great job in the last few games I have seen him.

To defend Stewart, he was sick as a dog yesterday. Had a 39 degree temperature, could hardly breath and was throwing up the whole game. Definitely looked very pale post-game. Only played because LJ pulled out late. Added to the fact that delivery to him was poor all day and he often had two defenders on him, it's no wonder he had a shocker.

In saying that, he'll never make it in the AFL but he'll be a damn fine 200+ game (hopefully Roosters) player.

Yesh found out this morning he was sick and only played because LJ couldn't  Won't be an AFL player but is a handy SANFL one.
