Callinan with 5 and could have been 6 but he gave a gimme away

Lewis Johnson and (pre tex injury) SMACK say hi with bags of goals and then gives you a unhappy look knowing its only Sturt.

We have seen Crows listed forwards kick goals against Sturt and not get selected. Hopefully this trend continues.

For mine (and I was working with the telly on so only saw glimpses), Callinan was the best of the Crows players in the Dog's v the Reserves game. Martin OK (mid 20's disposals), Tambling was quite constructive at times, Jaensch turned it over a bit, Riley typical Riley. Graham showed why he is back up only...just broke even if that in ruck, lumbers around the ground, but seemed quite quick on the lead for his couple of goals which surprised me. McIntyre shoudl not be with us next year.

RE list management I would say we wouldn't miss the lot of them if we had the depth, and I can see why they are all in the seconds. Callinan looked the best, followed by Tambling. Graham, Martin and Riley best of the next as back up. I can see plenty of scope for the scalpel. Pity we don't have the draft picks.

Only saw the last quarter. Callinan was okay but 2 of his goals were gimmies over the top, the other being a good snap late in junk time. Martin was pretty good other than gifting Centrals the sealer by going up for a hit out and tapping it backwards to a free Doggies player 20m out from goal. Riley I barely noticed. Graham did a clever tap from congestion to gift Martin a goal. Tambling and Jaensch overpossessed the ball at half back.

I really hope that Callinan doesn't get near the team again this year. He offers nothing long term, bring him back into the fold is a step in the wrong direction.
Yes, because we have all these crumbers desperately needing a crack at AFL level that Callinan is keeping out of the team.

It is a major deficiency in our side and on our list currently.

Yep if he's in form our team is better off. There is NO ONE on our list besides Callinan who could be considered a specialist small forward. If we are to make finals again this season we need a potent forward line and I like the look of forward line with Callinan (presuming he is in form).

Don't forget Stiffy's 8.

Ha ha ha

Yeah, ok. You went to mars during last years finals series?

Just saying.

Petrenko had plenty of touches but didn't really do much. Wasn't overly damaging or dangerous. Looked dead on his feet in the last and fitness remains a huge issue for him.

Joyce... if you didn't look at the team sheet you wouldn't have known he was playing.

I am well aware of how he played during the finals series. Are you aware of how many games we have already lost this season?

I'm also well aware he kicked 39 goals last year, as I'm sure that will get mentioned.

What's that saying...something about stupidity is doing the same thing twice and expecting a different result?

I never want to see him in a crows jumper again. Epic finals failure.

Sorry, go watch some SANFL finals. It was a strange finals series for him

So if Callinan comes in, who goes out?

Porps? Not the same sort if player or goal - so that's a no as the team will lose something with structure.

Kerridge? - can Callinan play that tagging half forward roe in the AFL? Dies he have the tank or the pace to keep up with the quicker half back flankers? Doubt it

Lyons? Can Callinan play in an AFL midfield and contribute against top sides? Who knows but isn't it better get give that opportunity to Lyons fir the future.

Vince - as as as Betnie can be, his best is still superior to Callinan. Different role in the team anyway.

So, who comes out and what role would he play?

Porps is a non entity at the moment, if callinan comes in and kicks a goal we are better off..

What?

Please don't compare SANFL finals with any AFL game. It's not even close. Now your running with this line, we know you are running out of tickets to pay in defending his place in the list.

I was really impressed with Martin, Riley, and even Tambling, who for once looked calm and collected with the ball. Jaensch was pretty ordinary, and while Callinan was fine, the 5 goals makes him look better than he was. All except for one were just him standing in the goal square by himself, basically just gimmies off the work of his teammates

Not saying i would do it but Porps for Callinan would help our structure we need a crumbing forward. Lynch is playing the lead up mid sized forward role that Porps normally plays.

Personally i would play Petrenko when he lifts his fitness. Happy for Callinan to get a game if he deserves it.

Anyone watching Centrals v Sturt? I've only seen a little bit but Riley is doing well, he won the last 2 clearances. Hopefully Carl is there, Graham kicked a goal after the 3qtr time siren
Now that Angus Kurtze is playing I expect we'll see more of Graham up forward. Kurtze is a far superior player.

How many SANFL games have you played to work that out. You know that typing on the keyboard doesn't count as a SANFL game.

Strange in that it was actually on the big stage, not the SANFL, and he shit himself? He was completely useless, and no amount of standout finals series in a second tier league is going to make up for that.

Are you one of those people in the crowd who sits there and tells anybody who criticises a player out on the field to go out there and do better?
