Who?

Sam Shaw plays for the Gay Bays.
Mason Shaw. Young 196cm key forward who has been kicking goals (including occasional bags) in every game this year. He may have had one game with no goals but I will need to double check that.

Has no chance of playing league no matter how well he performs in the twos for the same reasons McKernan had and apparently, just like McKernan, is now being played as a ruckman (in the reserves) instead of the position he was recruited for. South recruiting him in the mini draft makes no sense whatsoever.

Another player that needs to be moved to another team asap.

Sorry - but TERRIBLE point. The AFL is earning hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Clubs have every right to ask for more of that revenue when they need it, because ultimately they earned it. A club can't go broke because they are 1/16 of a billion dollar organization, and they are essential contributors to this.

SANFL clubs, however, are relying on pokie income and pub ownership.

See how dumb your point is? AFL clubs are creating value. SANFL clubs are largely parasitic.

Without the SANFL there is no AFC or PAfc or players for other AFL clubs. We need to protect all parties and find a sensible balance. Reserves sides in the SANFL goes to far for my liking. Would hate to see nick salter playing for the port magpies.

Really? How about for the Box Hill Hawks? This is a non-issue, and a pointless distraction.

FWIW - I'm fine with Crows playing reserves in the VFL. Prefer it, actually.

But it will contribute to the further decimation of the SANFL, which would be sad.

Lyons is playing for the bays and currently has 11 possessions midway though the 2nd quarter.

A Riley has 9 touches and Tambling has 3 or 4.

Congratulations Richard, you will get selected next game.

Riley the hard nosed clearance machine today. Good to see Atkins having a good run in the league side.

Excellent.

Lets hope the ridiculous non-selection of Lyons and Riley won't go on any further.

Can't wait to see a Crows player actually do something constructive from a clearance. Clarke on AA bemoaned the fact we won clearances but they weren't clean. NEWSFLASH...the one guy who proved he had clean hands and almost always did something clean at the clearance was sitting fresh as a daisy in the grandstand.

Oh and our other ongoing issue? Tackling pressure and intensity at the opposition...um wtf does Aidan Riley do better than anyone else at this club?

Sorry to any anti crows reserves side people but I can not wait until next season and we have all of our players in one team.

This going from one game to other to check player stats is just crap. Over it and just waiting for the announcement.

Lyons and Riley MUST play against the Suns. Theyve proved theyre capable of playing decent AFL football, and have scope for improvement also. The Suns are a good side but if ever we were going to get games into kids its now.

Dowdell looks to be getting a stack of hitouts for the Dogs, would love to hear how effective he has been. Tim McIntyre playing like a guy who has been told hes on the last chance, just cant finish. Someone mentioned Jolly too, would be worth a rookie look.

Has the club released why Brent Reilly isn't playing for Sturt today?

So, he was rested and rested next week, so one would assume he wasn't dropped or did he just refuse to play for Sturt.

He and Kerridge are playing next week. They had this week off.

Wouldnt think he would refuse, but id like to know why. Surely a player out of form and confidence needs to get a kick. Dont need him just quietly ;)

Why?

I can understand Kerridge as he's still young and at this stage of the season would have a very sore body but Reilly is a seasoned player. If his form wasn't shit, he would have played yesterday.

No, neither would I but I guess it's always a very small possibility.

Perhaps its just a matter of he has to at some point over these 3 weeks have a week off because of the bye round, players association, in their contract etc.. and having a week off now lets them have a rest before proving themselves in the SANFL giving themselves the best chance at only missing a game of AFL. Otherwise it would be play this round in the SANFL, then have a week off.

Riley and Lyons 55 posessions and 14 clearances between them. Lets not pick either of them theyre rubbish.
