Pretty naive comment this

The league and Venues NSW will care if someone does a knee or ruptures an achilles this weekend.

Lawsuits galore.

They can do a knee walking to pick up their kid from daycare too. It's wet, wear longer studs. People can't be seriously pointing to a Blakey kick...the bloke kicks like a drunk donkey in every game in every ground, most overrated player on our list and it is by far too.

It's better it's wet anyway lets the grass settle a bit

the Bailey Williams one was my concern.

The ground needs to be better, theres no disputing that.

Again, wear longer studs, it seems players just flat out refuse to do it these days. It is playing like a wet weather game treat it as such. It will be such a non issue in a month, so long as it is fine for start of cricket season all good

Probably because you arent allowed to wear metal studs anymore. This isnt the 80s.

The ground isn't fit for footy, and just because Venues NSW had their hand out for an opera concert pre easter, doesn't mean players safety should be jeopardized.

This weeks game should be at Accor.

Doesn't have to be metal you can wear longer ones that aren't metal. You can't play the game at Accor as it's been reconfigured. It's a putrid ground for our fans to get to even if you could play there. There is also State of Origin next Wednesday they need to get the ground in tip top shape for that they are NOT having AFL come in and wreck the grass before a marquee event, it aint happenening

Engie stadium it is then.

No thanks. You have any idea how hard it is for the majority to get to that ground? It's a nightmare. Lets say you are around the city, be real a lot of fans are okay, it's what 20 mins to get to central, a train to Strathfield, a train to lidcombe, and then one to Olympic park let alone the walk at the end of it. Dead set utter nightmare and logistically. That is well over an hour to get to a game, you recon more than 1/4 of fans would do that on a sunday afternoon? Before you say drive not everyone does and the roads ren't great

Compare that to, get to central, get a tram outside the ground and go in. Forget the ground, AFL is for better word an entertainment package.

They can't with the new configurations. They sure aint transferring games to Giants stadium which can be just as bad and is a nightmare to get to.
That's an absolute fallacy. There's a train station right outside the stadium and parking everywhere.

You are not a good advocate for living in Sydney are you! Crap roads, crap public transport, crap traffic, crap grounds.

Crap roads? That’s country Victoria dude

There’s no direct trains that’s the point- the SCG is a mile easier. You guarantee direct trains I’m all ears there hasn’t been for years. Trash venue to get to with nothing around it.

The grounds are fine I’ve never said our grounds are bad. The public transport is fine it’s just congested, traffic is always bad in a big city lol.

Stadium Australia
ANZ
Home Bush
ACCOR

How many ****en names has it. Play it at ome kf the 40,000 names it has.

At this point, the crowd number / comfort isn't really the issue. Only way the SCG will learn is to take revenue off it by moving the game. They have to have a better way of sorting out the ground if they want to have concerts on it. Doesn't seem to be as big of an issue at other places.

The SCG is easier with the trams but for how many years did that have nothing there?

The venue itself is great to watch at, it has several restaurants around it as well.

If a Freo player gets injured during the game due to the ground, the only fair thing to do will be to sub a Swan into the Dockers team as a replacement. For example, if Bailey Banfield goes down then we get Chad Warner for the rest of the game and till Banners is back from injury (might be awhile).

You're overselling the difficulty to get to Engie Stadium. For people not in the CBD who catch a train into Central, changing to a tram from Central up to the SCG is not significantly different to transferring to a different train line at Lidcombe to get to Olympic Park station.

If they deem the SCG surface unsafe, then Engie is probably the only option.

Actually is is because like it or not it’s an entertainment package no one will go to Homebush. It’s hardly that big an issue this year wear boots for wet weather footy.

There’s a grand total of what one pub around the area, one! There’s centrally located SCG is just better, there have been grounds with way worse. The rain will help actually half the issue has been it’s been bitterly cold there’s been very little respite. If it had to happen I’ll take it this year where we ain’t playing finals anyway. Lessons to be learnt going forward but it’s not a big deal

Boots don’t solve everything and I highly doubt anybody didn’t have the right footwear last weekend when blokes were falling over.
