I did the Politics of Power and Resistance. Basically about the methods those in power use to maintain that power and the methods those who do not have power use to gain power. Not sure if that is applicable though.

I don't think so, this is more economics related. Visible hand vs. invisible hand of market forces and management. Thank you though. I emailed my lecturer, will be fine hopefully.

That is no problem. I know a bit about that area but probably no where near enough to be helpful. I hope your lecturer gives you the answers you need.

Funny but pretty much hits the nail on the head. I always tell myself the best way to finish something is to start it.

I never had a problem with motivation at Uni doing an Engineering degree (Computer Systems, Hons). Friday from 4pm I'd party my brains out until late, the rest of the time work my butt off. Run every morning at 7am (even Sat morning to shake hangover), finish my day at 10pm. A simple formula. During exams I'd spend a day collating notes and designing a timetable to cater for all my subjects (11x3 hour 100% external exams in 2nd year), weighting extra time on ones where I was weaker. My swot technique was settled and I didn't dare change it. I followed my timetable to the letter. 2 hours, break, 2 hours, break and so on. I'd be asleep by 11pm and get a full 8 hours, regardless of whether I felt I hadn't covered enough of the work, as I considered it more important to be able to remember the work I had learned.

Where I had the problem was doing my MBA part-time. After taking 3 years (6 units) just to get to the Diploma of Business, mainly due to work commitments, I decided to take on 100% work load and finish the next 6 units in 18 months (doing part of it at Harvard thanks to generous employer). Far easier to just throw myself into it. Personally, though the MBA work itself was easier than Engineering, the motivation was a lot harder. Part time study is the hardest of all for motivation.

3 techniques for the uni students out there;
1. The way your brain works you retain things better if you go back to it a day after you have learned it for the first time.
2. Use both inductive and deductive learning in your exam preparation. The easiest method to do that is try to condense all your notes into 1 single A4 sheet.
3. Use your A4 sheet to do practice exam questions.

I'd heard about this when it first came out but only saw it for the first time on Saturday night right after the North game when my mate who I watch games with showed it to me. I legitimately watched it 8 times in a row and laughed uncontrollably for about 35 mins.

I think if I cared more or studied harder I would be doing a lot better than what I am now to be perfectly honest, but I'm too lazy for that.

It is my experience that lazy people don't average High D. If you are in your 3rd or 4th year it is even less likely. Keep up the good work. Being a USyd pratty little prat with good grades will hold you in good stead come real world time.

Haha, you over-estimate the system I think. It's not that hard to get good grades.

USyd (Business) doesn't permit lecturers-in-charge to scale anymore but they operate under some unwritten rules. No more than 10% to get > D is one.
Don't sell yourself short, it is a good achievement and seriously beneficial on your resume.
