If you know anyone going overseas there's a Glenfiddich aged in Red Wine casks exclusive to Duty Free and about $150 a bottle.
I have tried the version aged in bourbon and midera the later being better imo both great imo but not superior to there regular 18 year old

I got the Madeira one onmy bed side table actually.

Wife went on a cruise earlier this year and she bought it home for me.

I'm going on a cruise later in the year where I can get another bottle, I might crack this bad boy open soon.

Mixing and straight suggestions under $50 :) maybe a recommendation for each please

Under $50? Has to be JW Black for me. Drinks well neat and for the people who mix, goes well with soda, cola or just a big handful of ice. Not too hard on you either and has a nice slight smokey taste, though a very quick finish, but you get what you pay for.

Johnny Black is a great allrounder.

Its not to expensive that it puts you out. it doesnt make you look like a cheap skate either.

I actually prefer bourbon to scotch so I've tried their bourbon. It's actually ok for the price, and I would personally rather drink it than jim beam. My main criticism of it is that it's quite light tasting and finishes quite short. It's fine for mixing though.

I reckon cheap scotch is worse than cheap bourbon though.
