Genuine question: what happens when interchange players are nominated? How are they assessed?

When one gets nommed we'll get back to you.

We don't nominate interchange players.

They're not good enough.

---

Not sure what you mean by your question. If an interchange player gets nominated, then an interchange player gets nominated.

That's what happens.

Are they compared against backs? Mids? Forwards? Rucks? Other interchange players?

They would be compared against everybody.

When thinking of mids, for example, the discussion is about who were the best midfielders. If an interchange player had more impact in the midfield than these nominated dedicated midfielders, then they might be a shot.

When thinking about defenders, the discussion is about who were the best midfielders. When the discussion is about forwards, we discuss the best mids, and kick Mooch in the cods and graffiti his house and set fire to his car .

Your interchange player has to have grabbed more attention than these guys.

Interchange players do not exist. They are simply players on the interchange. Their best bet is if they were lucky enough to have been subbed on into the same part of the ground almost exclusively, and very often, for long periods of gametime.

ALL-SFA interchange is built from positional players who didn't fit onto the ground.
