The Eddie and Mick show is finally come to an end for the seasonas I hoped it would like most of the country. Malthouse was very emotional after the game was it because he loves Collingwood or maybe the big bonus he missed out on. When in discussion about the game later I kept thinking that todays game was a bit boring I finally realised what people had been saying for years (Malthouse negative). One must think how many premierships could we have won with a Mathews or Sheedy. It was a pleasure to have Woosha at the helm this year.

I cant say i agree

Other interstate teams are only now realising how difficult travel can be; as evidenced by Michael Voss's comments after todays game

Malthouse did a fantastic job with our club and should be commended for the way he turned our team from rabble to premiership contenders. He had every players respect and got the best out of the young squad at the time

Saying that a Leigh Mathews or Sheedy couldve won us more is a joke....

I think Malthouse has made a big difference to our club and if we did have Matthews or Sheedy, who knows what could have happened.

Malthouse has had his time with us and we thank him for what he has done, but IMO, I think he could not give two hoots about West Coast. When he came here to help celebrate the 10 year anniversary he really did not want to be here.

Thank's for all you have done Mick, but your time is past. Thanks for your help and the 2 flags, but you bleed black and white now.
Woosha is our coach and hopefully one day he may hold another premiership cup aloft.

Woosha is our future, Mick is our past.

Malthouse is one of the best coaches going around. He took Collingwood, who should have been fighting for 8th spot, to a team only a couple goals short of a premiership.

Sheedy only won 1 premiership with what was touted as the greatest team of all time. Matthews is a great coach, admittedly, but who's to say his aggressive style would suit a team that has to travel as much as we do?

Mick brought professionalism and two premierships to this club. The achievements of the man at West Coast were undeniable, and for a goose like you to come out and say some bull**** about a negative coaching or tactical style we would have been better without, well it's just astounding. The man's coaching record speaks for itself, and to suggest we would have been better off with someone else is a very misguided view.

After MM had a cry today I now believe he bleeds black and white. I always thought he would have a special WC connection but that is foolish and i believe he views WC as just another side he has to beat to get Collingwood a premiership.

John Worsfold though...he was born with blue and gold blood!

Others in that catagory.

Jakovich. I expect him to coach the club one day.

Sumich. To give up the Sth Freo job and assistant coach at the Violets to help with the club showed his true colours.

Whilst Jako is a great player, he would be one ****house coach. He wasn't nicknamed "cement head" for no reason and whilst he may speak alright in front of the media, I seriously doubt whether he would have the brains to go up against some of the best coaches.

It was the best GF for years - what are you talking about?

Malthouse did brilliantly to achieve what he did with Collingwood this year. Sheedy would not have taken that team to a GF. Matthews won a flag with Collingwood (with a much more talented squad) and was later sacked.

Sheedy or Matthews - well IF they had been prepared to give up 10 years of their Victorian life to help (big IF) I tip they would have won no more than 2 flags, maybe less.

Yes, it is a pleasure to have Woosha at the helm.

I dont think you can predict what type a coach he can be. He reads the game well and I expect he could be a great coach if he had the right teachers.

He may be a lunkhead, but who thought Woosha would be a great coach?

I completelly agree and though I respect other people's opinions it bothers me when some people put down Malthouse and his achievements. Some even say that anybody could have won more premierships than MM because in the early 90's we had a state selection. In a way it's true (the selection part) and rightly so. Why wouldn't a WA team play with the best WA players ? It was in my view the only way to compensate for constant long distance travelling.

Now about Malthouse bleeding black and white I think it's just his professionalism. The man bleeds for the team he coaches and that is the sign of a strong, committed and honest nature. Nobody should expect less than full dedication from Malthouse. If one day he coaches another team he will also bleed for them. One thing I know. In his articles he often mentions the Eagles, which means that deep down he still cares for our club.

The Eagles will always be a part of Mick - he spent ten years here, won his first flags and established himself as one of the top echelon of coaches.

But that doesn't mean he'll not want to beat us now he's coaching elsewhere, and nor should it.

I had mixed feelings on Saturday, because I didn't want to see McGuire or Buckley get their hands on that cup, but I'd love to see Mick do it again (as long as we're not the opposition!)

Just remember who one of the assistant coaches at Carlton was when they belted us by a hundered and whatever last year - do you think he ever contemplated telling the players to back off on his old team?

No, we dont expect that.

However, the great man did admit it was gut wrenching to watch "His" side play like a rabble.
