Its been a pretty dejecting week for Bombers forward HawkPatrol, after it was revealed that he has missed out on a SFA All Australian nomination. To add insult to injury, the reason for his omission was due to a 2 month non post period, a time in which the Bombers needed him the most.
However, HawkPatrol is now focused on season 2010, his 3rd season in the SFA, and has his sights set on success. "I would really like to make amends for my mid-season fadeout. Not only did I let myself down in regards to a AA nomination, but I let the team down at a time when they needed their full forward to fire."
HP now enters his third season, which is remarkable considering many people thought he would last a months tops. The start to his career was very contraversial, after he left the Hawks after one week to join the Wonders, a team which was contraversial enough already. From there, he made some powerful enemies and was a much maligned poster. However, it seems that his bad days are behind him, and is starting to make a mark on the competition.
"I believe I've done my time, the spotlight was not a place I planned to stay in, and I think that I'm starting to earn some respect from my peers. I'm in my third year now, and by this stage in your career you start to knuckle down, and you start to think before you post. It helps if you have a great network of people at your club, and the Bombers have been fantastic to me. Now its time to repay the faith."
