When you posted he was going to be on air every tuesday, I was hanging out for today, no cricket finals for me this season , so I can listen on tuesday afternoon. Rohan = No show. What's going on?

Yeah I was listening in also and he wasn't on. He was definitely on last Tuesday evening , with Ox and Mark saying that he would be a weekly Tuesday guest.

Some regular weekly guests may be reluctant to have their segment on Tuesadys or Thursdays , as the hosts on various radio shows have a habit of saying , "Ok then ( name of guest ) see you next Tuesday / Thursday"

I think this is why Caro moved from Tuesday nights to Wednesday nights , on 3aw last year.

Now Mick Malthouse is on 3aw evey Tuesday night

Is sen talkback anymore? They have spoken about complete rubbish for the last 40 mins as the do alot on overnights rarely have talkback but seem to want to talk about themselvs & sing. I tryed to call for about a hour last thurs night at 1am and the phone kept on ringing out yet can ring up & get onto kb or the run home straight away.

Somtimes i wish i didnt not go to the effort of emailing phoning and making a big shit stink about overnights getting axed 3-4 years ago. Id rather listen to interviews throught the night than hear the crap they go on with these days.

The sad thing is they think there footy experts. I would sit listening to bp of schbecci all night these blokes haha im asleep in 5 mins. I should ring up one night and comment how i saw a-rod teo and darren parkin at pancake palour (didnt go But). Coz there huge celebs

The shit there going on with is just beyond the joke. the things that really upsets me about what they do is remain this cover for caller David Blunkett 6000 to the most time anyway I'm sure you've a running summary five minutes the other night a charger into three hours and at phone just Me out All Night without Talking about Themselves and Woodedge on the Weekend but They Don't Take All Switches Were the Shows about I'm Just Disappointed the Way its Sending and It Should Be a Bit of a Look at What You Doing in May Change Format?

Must have missed that , about what time during the show did you hear that.

Not sure exactly I think it was between 1-1:30. It was when they were talking about Foxtel.

Teo said "I can't believe I'm going to say this*, but I'm no stranger to paying for love."

He may have just been referring to paying for membership etc but it sounded dodgy.

Jon LeBaron-Ralph hits the airwaves with KB on a slow-news Wednesday … A whole hour of talkback discussing the kick long strategy and other on-field tactics … JLR says enough with the AFL paying for Karmichael Hunt but KB disagrees saying it’s an on-going investment. And about the other bloke?

KB: I must say, I thought Israel Folau had a snowflake’s chance in hell of actually making it in AFL football. What I saw him do on the weekend in that second half; those four marks, that spring, that leap, that timing, and the vice-like grip; was not even half a fumble, I thought, you know what, he might just surprise everyone. He might surprise everyone as they become a better side. I mean, I just thought that was incredible what he did on the weekend.

Oh dear –“a point of difference returns” in relation to on-field strategy via a talkback caller criticizing the new younger coaches … confused caller thinks everyone else is confused about what is a correct tackle … more love for World Vision from yet another Roos fan and KB defends James T.B. Brayshaw in regards to being portrayed as a teddy bear and JLR defends the Herald Sun with strong arguments … and that’s it on a snoozy pre-season Wednesday.

I don't share that sense with you, I'm afraid. At the very least, I take Tim as a genuine NFL/Green Bay fan. This, as opposed to Andy "I've been a NE Patriots fan for more than 20 years" Maher. Unless they're from Massachusetts, never take a Patriots fan as more than a bandwagoner, they are shady folk. Worse bandwagoners than Man Utd fans from the 90s.

Anyway, I wonder if Teo pops into the "short stay hotel" before ANA, or after he does an evening shift on weekends? What about Peaky? He's not attached to anyone and he could afford to go most days of the week!

Smokey Dawsons last day on air with the cricket today.

But I think Bedford might have done a Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible , and abseiled into Sen Towers and slipped a voice silencer elixir into Smokey Dawsons coffee.

As Smokey has a very very very husky voice at every cricket score update.

Harfs voice is like a velvet fog in the 3pm hour , with Terry "Husky Voice" Wallace and Smokeys new Husky voice.

It was funny as they said Smokey was at the cricket in the news, but when they came back he was in his office at home. The SEN towers are only 2 levels, no need to start abseiling at my age. Don't mind Wallace on the radio, should do 2 shifts a week on Harf time and get rid of the yank and unfunny guys.

Hungry for a Barry Hall Black Eye​

After a disappointing Wednesday, a late-morning hour-long Thursday stoush between KB and JLR begins with the Mike Sheahan’s protégé a little haggled over the scheduled Barry Hall vs. Ben Wrotniack fight. Big mistake by JLR here in taking on KB on the subject of boxing. After qualifying himself as being least qualified man in Australia – “no courage, no punching skills,” and self-described “chump” – Jonny alleges Wrotniack is a hand-picked opponent and “the greatest underdog in world sport.” Wrotniack is less of a chance to beat bustling Barry than Thorpey is winning an Olympic gold medal according LeBaron-Ralph. JLR then refers to Wrotniack as a “chump” and a “patsy” but “wouldn’t want to walk into him in a dark alley.” Hmmm, hardly sounds like words such as patsy and chump is appropriate verbiage for someone you wouldn’t want to meet in any alley.

SEN’s pugilistic expert goes to the tale of the tape to expose some of LeBaron-Ralph’s lameness:

KB: I don’t know Ben Wrotniack … you’ve really put him down. He’s had four professional fights for four wins. That’s more professional fights than Barry Hall’s had.
JLR: That’s a very good point.
KB: He’s twenty-seven years of age; Barry Hall is thirty-five years of age. I mean, how good is Barry Hall? I mean, we’ve pumped up Barry Hall because he had some amateur fights when he was living in Broadford.
JLR: When he was a kid. He was sixteen.
KB: Just about the next Mike Tyson. I mean, can Barry Hall actually fight?
JLR: Well, I don’t-

I’m sure there’d be a lot of households out there that’ll get Main Event and when they do actually get him to fight someone legitimate. Is it a Sonny Bill (Williams) or one of those sort of guys. When they gradually build him up, gee, it’s gonna be an enormous-

Caller suggests JLR is a vegetable on boxing knowledge and not much at footy either … KB says Barry Hall publicity machine will end up having Bassa taking on Klitschko ... JLR tries to backtrack on Wrozniack criticism and the whole debate by claiming he’s just being facetious, as yet again he plugs Glenn McFarlane’s Hun article … He also admits “we, as the media, we’re the ones being silly because we mythologize guys who have had one fight in their general career.” … KB claims Bobby Rose was the best footy player/boxer … Next caller wants cricket’s hot-spot technology for footy. Yep, send your cheque to the AFL, fella.

KB’s stuck on Barry: “What happens to Barry Hall when Ben Wrotniack knocks him out?” … Next caller likes the idea of making the goal post live in footy to cut down on controversial decisions but KB thinks footy’s got it right. … Expect to see “Saints” football being played by Fremantle says KB. … JLR pushes the Kangas-membership-buying Bartlett on whether he’ll ante up the readies for a Barry Hall fight on cable and KB, of course, says he won’t.

KB must surely know something about Barry possibly quitting before he starts?

JRL launches his justification for the sub rule with the “fairness component” when Geelong lost Podsiadly at the eleven minute mark of the second quarter in the Grand Final and subbed Mitch Duncan on as the Pies held their sub back, thus still allowing three each on the interchange ... Caller blames Pies for taking in injured players and KB refutes that stating that the Double M would not play injured players.

Now KB’s treads on glass by discussing American football which is a sure-fire turnoff for his regular listeners. He’s better off talking about women’s golf. Who are the great players that have been moved on by their teams? … He’s quite bemused by Peyton Manning’s release from a team and the emotion as well as the subsequent retirement of the Manning’s No. 18 … KB’s struggling to understand the level of emotion, and, oh wait on, LeBaron-Ralph’s chipped in with “unbelievable, I don’t think it was the right decision. Of course, he’s had three neck surgeries (it’s actually 4).” … The US sports culture experts both believe the team retiring the player’s number forever is a “silly, silly thing to do.”

KB would like to see Darren Millane’s No. 42 back in circulation but doesn’t like the Tigers captain always wearing No. 17 because that’s Jack Dyer’s legacy and players “make their own way in the game.” … Yes, that’s why teams sometimes retire numbers, KB, to honour legacies. … And the duo continue to discuss AFL players’ numbers. “Get the numbers back in circulation,” says, Lebaron-Ralphy … Caller names Wayne Gretsky as a favourite son being let go (he was traded for King’s ransom) so just maybe they’ll finally discuss the power of one player or draft pick in US sports compared to the AFL? Then again, probably not. Beckham is another name mentioned. KB’s new favourite phrase gets a couple of mentions here, too: “a point of difference.”

But why do the Yanks often retire numbers? A caller references how often it happens and names the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan as just one example. … Another No. 23 cracks a mention in Kermy Bretheraton being moved on and KB explains how the Hawks wouldn’t pay him. People on SMS indicate they’d be upset to missing out on the $28 million that was due to Manning in 2012. JLR thinks the player is gonna restructure his contract anyway he likes because he’s not short of a dollar, which makes no sense since the non-restructuring of the contract was part of the reason the player was let go by the team. And lastly KB gets accused of having buttons for eyes for not seeing Reid was injured in the Grand Final and KB facetiously explains again the Double M scenario of not playing injured players.

Just as an aside: No mention of baseball’s Jackie Robinson’s No.42 being retired on every team in MLB. No mention here either by LeBaron-Ralph that Manning was paid $22 million last year when he didn’t play game due to injury, which sank his team to last place – and first pick in the draft. And that pick will be a once in a generation quarterback to replace the previous once in a generation quarterback coming off a fourth neck surgery. No mention that the team’s GM, head coach, training personal are all gone. That paying the Manning the $28 million on top of the first draft pick’s money would have mired the team’s future in salary cap hell (an actual NFL term), and the team is already being gutted of other stars. To stay Manning was told he’d have to compete for the job, take a pay reduction, share valuable practice time, and be a mentor to the new bloke brought in to be the team’s future. Most of us would agree to the trade-off the club was forced to make and leave with the $173.6 million already earned for throwing a football for more than a decade! Anyway, Project 18 wouldn’t be quite the same with some other chump wearing his number:

But why such emotion from Peyton Manning leaving a city on top of all those other changes to the team? Yes, that’s the actual name of the hospital in Indianapolis. Note the now-retired No. 18 that no one would want to wear anyway. He’s one of the most beloved athletes by a community in US sports history. Now that's a legacy.
