I am pretty sure he only started being angry a few years ago, so it sounds like it's just a personality he puts on.
i agree. it was about the news before, now its about creating a brand.

same with kb to an extent (although i think kb has trouble remembering finer points which is why he trotts out the line "ive said for years")

what was discussed on this and RSN in the morning was where do you draw the line? are rules need to dictate what you can and cant do? its a vexed issue.

in many ways therefore my anti boo stance on goodes is now much less stringent. i dont boo (except umpires), but if people wanna boo goodes then as you said the do gooders win.[/QU
Finey is having another tedious and sanctimonious rant right now RE The AFL Commission..
As he should, Fitzpatrick is a joke

I listen to BBC radio and they played part of SJ Peake's rant when Australia were dismissed for 60 last week. They didn't say who he was though. They got a lot of fun out of it. They also played a similar rant by Alan Jones on 2GB. I hope they don't think that those two are typical of us.
Any podcast of the BBC or audio of Peakeys rant?

watson getting a hammering this morning. reckon he finally lost it just before 8am. caller said essendon players should just toughen up (ryder and crameri are affected too). watson aggressively, and condescendingly, asked caller if he has gone through something like this himself.

no need to get personal watson.

gaze the only one who had the balls to ask watson if hird should stay or go. watson cant win here, as he started his reply with a few stutters. wants to back his mate, but didnt actually say he should stay on

I disagree. The media backing of goodes was almost sickening, someone who has copped some abuse for a short space of time. Compared to ESS players who have copped it for 3 seasons now. And where is the media and afl backing the players?

This caller said Essendon players need to harden up, when it is clear as day this has affected some of them pretty seriously this year. I don't think people understand how bad the situation is with some Essendon players.

the caller was very simplistic about the situation. too simplistic. i only mentioned it because it caused watson to finally snap.

goodes vs essendon are totally different.

part of the media have backed essendon
- robbo
- connolly
- watson
- maher

The goodes and ESS situation are different but in some ways, they are essentially the same. The feeling of being harassed and bullied. Watson still gets booed in some games.

I also understand some in the media have been more supportive of Essendon, but even those you have mentioned have written and talked about the situation in a negative light towards Essendon at times.

Watson cracking the shits is understandable. He is the father of the person who has copped the most abuse and its pretty clear how much it affected his son. Enough for him to leave the country as captain, halfway through a season.

goodes was booed for multiple reasons, one of which maybe racism which is heinous and something society does not approve of. booing of watson is more a shot at the club.

watson should for his own good resign from sen. its for his own good and health.

So because booing of Watson was directed at the club, that's OK?

I maintain it is a form of harassment and bullying in both instances and neither warranted. Difference being media come out to defend goodes like crazy, but not the ESS players. Playing the racism Card is an easy way out for the media.

Are you serious?

The media, just about to a man/woman, has defended the Essendon players throughout the saga! There has been a consensus that the players are "victims".

The point the caller was making was that both Ryder and Crameri are both in the same situation as the Essendon players and yet were playing ok.

No comparison between Goodes situation and Essendon players.

Hooker is playing good, so is Hurley, heppell, baguley and a couple of others. But bringing up crameri and ryder are poor comparisons. They are outside the efc bubble now, so aren't consumed with it.
