Since Fine came back after his break he sounds even more angry and more of a shock jock. Sadly it sounds beyond stale and dated. I know he tries hard and I actually want him at the station, but it's just extremely disappointing hearing the shows at the moment. Brett Phillips was far more proffessional in the same position.

I wonder if the reason SEN are scared of making changes or replacing people is that they need them for the football each week ?
If you think about it OX Maher KB Allan Harf I might have forgot some but isnt nearly every show host also a commentator or special comments person on SEN football each week.
That means if you replace them in one role they will most certainly not stick around for the other role so any new show hosts have to be able to commentate on the football.
Was this the original concept of SEN that the hosts would double up as it seems to be a catch 22 for the SEN mgt and cant be healthy for deciding futures

He's talking about how the AFL has cleaned up the game so much that going to the footy doesn't have that tribal feeling about it anymore. He misses the days of going to Moorabbin and being part of the animal enclosure.
I got so frustrated my wife changed stations in the car.

If Finey thinks that 80's footy was the pinnacle of watching it live he has rocks in his head. Was terrible going to the footy back then dealing with drunken idiots and racist comments. We've well and truly moved on from that.

I think we just have to pity the old timers who are too busy lamenting an era of thuggish, racist sausage fests to realise that in terms of standard, match quality and individual brilliance we're kind of living in a golden age of footy. I don't really know how else to take guys like that.
I only really listen to Fine on a Friday night if one of the "big clubs" with salty fans has had a loss. When his crazy, angry, bitter talkback callers are the stars of the show I find it quite humorous and entertaining - but when Fine has to be the star of his own show I can't really deal with it.

I switched it on for the last hour and was surprised no talk on the season. Heading into the last round there is probably the most hypothetical combination of results between first right through to seventh ever. Guess with the Hawks playing Friday night, they have been done to death by now, and none of the other main players are Melbourne based.
Becoming more and more impressed with Darren Parkin......so knowledgeable, easy to listen to and no mood swings.
Needs to be given more air time..

Footy was fantastic no doubt. But the crowd behaviour that I witnessed was awful. So many fights in the crowd, drunken blokes and so much racism.

Have been told that last night Fine was discussing cricket and said that Darren Lehmann has to go.......now, if that is true, I hope poor Darren wasn't listening to someone trying to get him the sack......the poor man might have children he is trying to put through school and a mortgage to pay.
...isn't that the same thing that Finey railed off at me for doing?
I heard either Denham or Smith (I get them mixed up) saying the other day that Leppitch had to go. Leppitch (or any coach in similar position) has got children going to school etc......but it's ok for them to say things like that, but not us??

a valid point
Compelling radio with Berry and Kosi today. Especially about the 2010 GF1. Also at the realisation of how footy is a part of daily life, having started a regular job for the first time in his 30s after playing footy.
