No, no. I heard Thommo today as well. I hadn't made up my mind yet on Adam. I'm not sure what to think of it. The two of you come across a bit hard. I get what Thommo was saying when he said he "failed", as opposed to "choked". I suppose my impression of Adam was he didn't truly think he could win it, despite being in a great position. I don't know...

He also suggested that because some of Scott's putts missed by inches, as opposed to missing way short/long etc., it was not a choke. It's a pass/fail situation, you either get the job done or you do not. Some people deliver in clutch situations and some do not. Scott failed to deliver on this occasion, most likely because the pressure got to him and he choked. Just call it like it is!?

The problem for Thommo is that now he has made a rod for his own back. Will be interesting to see how faithful he is to his views on choking the next time the topic comes up.

Maybe as an ex professional sportsperson he has a better feel for what goes through an athlete's mind at the top level, than you do.

Easy for the average pleb to be critical when they have absoloutly no idea of the circumstances.

By the way, did Woods choke by taking triple bogey early on?

ah ok. thought we were about to trade blows.

my opinion was more a reflection on the media in general, with their opinions changing by the minute to suit their own personal agendas.

on scott, i felt after day 3 something wasnt right, and that he'd falter. but on the inside i was praying it wouldnt happen....

I agree with Cleary.

Im more concerned about the fact that if richmond are going it along there will be THREE tigers in the comp: richmond, werribee and coburg

daytripper, i respect you as a fellow nba fan. but i think you are being harsh on posters sharing an opinion. have you ever bagged an opinion from a footy expert? if the average pleb cannot be critical then we might as well shut down online forums.

Okay, I know this is nitpicking but when Scott was talking to the journalist from Johannesburg about South African sport the other night, they started talking about the Super Rugby finals. Maybe I was half asleep but I swear the journalist had the semi-final match ups the other way around. He thought the Stormers were playing the Crusaders and the Chiefs were playing the Sharks. It’s actually Stormers vs Sharks and Chiefs vs Crusaders. Was I dreaming or did that really happen?

Nicknames are the least of the worries. In any case I'd assume Coburg would revert back to being the Lions.

ive always been concerned with having two teams with teh same nicknames in the comp (bees and coburg).

i would like to see coburg back to the lions

So you have to have been a professional athlete in a similar position in order to be qualified to have an opinion? May as well shut BigFooty down if that's the case.

I don't mind Thompson generally, and respect his right to an opinion, but he came across as if deep down he believed that Scott choked while trying to argue that Scott did not choke. His arguments were illogical, naive and irrelevant and the whole thing smacked of him trying too hard to live up to his "good bloke" persona.

i am also curious.

i enjoy connolly on sen as i did on aw.

loved him going the boot on reports covering the olympics being:

1. average joe at the sport they are covering
2. making it more about them than the games (actually watson made the point, RH agreed. watson wouldnt say that if 7 had the games)

but really liked it when he said there's such a saturation on footy reporters that journos just have to write some crap to fill in space.

did any1 hear harfs segment with drama pittman/rawlinson? dont think harf was hosting or even on radio when she was winning best actress in a drama some years ago. given characters like jana in our sporting landscape who polarise the community, i guess its why media personnel sit on the fence.
