Wow, that quickly went from rumour to reality.
I'm surprised they'll split up Ox and Marko, because they've had the odd good ratings results, and some of the best for the station.

Leach isn't my cup of tea, even though he's pro and smart, etc, etc. He's a bit hoity-toity for me; perfect for the ABC
I'll try to listen with fresh ears next year.

Yeah, I can't imagine that being any good. Solo hosts are usually less entertaining, and he'd be one of the worst, I reckon

This is how it was 'reported' on here at the time:

There was a huge story going around one day (I can't remember what), and someone integral to the issue became available for an interview very close to 7pm. Leach obviously wanted the interview (he was on from 4pm to 7pm), because it was a big story and a good get, but Beva apparently said, "what's the farkin point of having him on for 5 mins before 7 o'clock when I can talk to him for ages after 7 o'clock?!"

Leach did a short interview before 7pm, so a shit-fight ensued, and Beva was suddenly gone, I think the next day.

I have no life ... or both remembering this and typing it.

Having said this, however -- and I'm sure I'll be alone here -- I don't mind Maher when he's mucking with Gaze. What bugs me about him is his long-winded questions, fawning over sport stars, fake laughing at Watson's grandpa jokes, and the way he describes everything as "beautiful". :d I guess that's a few things that bug me. HA.

They'll probably do what they did with Harf and have plenty of guest segments to get him through the show (Ed Wyatt, Robbo, JYB or whatever it's called).

Leach and Ox reuniting for the breakfast program.

Andy Maher hosting new show called 'The Lunch Break' between 12 and 3pm.

Harf replacing Ox and working with Marko for The Run Home.

If that happens I won't listen to the run home anymore.

I've gotta say, well done to sen management for making some pretty big decisions here. This is the biggest shakeup to the stations line up in many years. And I have to say, it would not surprise me if we have played some small part in this change. You would have to think sen would follow this thread, as we are one of their biggest forms of feedback.

I'm not going to judge the choices they have made. Let's see how maher goes by himself in the afternoon, let's see how Hartford and allen go together in the drive slot. I'll be switching back to sen for breakfast now, with leach and the ox.
