maybe the nbl needs to start over again like soccer did. focus on the major cities first, one from each state capital (brisbane, melbourne, perth, sydney and adelaide) plus say cairns, west sydney and maybe a NZ team. that makes say 8 teams. can 8 teams work?

Sure, 8 could work, but that would mess with the finals format. What do you do? Allow 4 teams in? I think the league thinks 12 is ideal.
It seems like the A League is on the right track so maybe the NBL should take a page out of their book....

Why do they let Doran make comment about the Grand Prix? Obviously knows nothing about it.

If we lose the Grand Prix one day, blokes like Doran and Maher shouldn't be allowed to proudly stand up and call Melbourne, Australia's sporting capital.

What did he say? I got the day off work so don't have SEN on at home during day time. I get weird interference during the day.

He was just waffling on about how the Grand Prix is only on pay TV overseas (which is wrong), and how it doesn't do anything for our tourism industry to promote Melbourne. And a bunch of other assorted waffling where he was obviously out of his depth.

I've been on holidays for the last month and haven't listened to SEN much lately (the one bit I heard was an interview Doran did with James Tomkins where he spent half the time asking him about Sally Robbins for some reason). Anyone want to join a posse I want to put together to get this bloke off the air? Annoys the piss out of me.

the Sunday papers said that the Morning Glory have got rid of the joke of the day just before 7am when John Burgess use to tell a joke to Andy Tim and Billy.
Said that Sen decided not to have him on anymore

I liked hearing Burgo. His jokes weren't funny, but he had personality, something Maher and Watson struggle with.

nobody should comment on the grand pricks,it is the biggest waste of money, its like paying doran a waste of time

Another thing is the price of the ticket. I had no idea but tickets are $30-$40. Chris Anstey suggests bringing ticket prices down to $15-$20. That could work. Another thing is..the only radio station that I have heard giving game tickets away is Gold 104, to Tigers games. The league and the teams ought to do more of that.

The Dragons have got it right in relation to ticket prices, but unfortunately have not been able to get it together on the court to attract people to their games.

I took the family to the boxing day game this year, $40 for the family. The kids really enjoyed it.

yeah I think you are spot on there.

I think the prices for the Tigers games at the Cage is down right disgraceful ... (way to OTT for a working class family IMHO)
The Dragons will hopefully get it right sooner rather then later with the on-field stuff (certainly the talent is there, just lacking leadership and the coaching situation needs fixing ASAP, I for one think they should go for Brett Brown, ex Giants championship coach, who has been working in San Antonio the last few years, seriously he is a great coach, who understands the system and game, and is very media savvy as well)

Also though I kinda think the NBL should market more of their star players and give them more media/radio spots ..

Homicide I think is just about the best interview of a sports star I've heard this year, (listen to him on Steve and Ed's show on Sunday night) forthright, intelligent and downright hilarious, and is a great player to boot.
I actually hope the Dragons can snare Homicide one day, he would be a great fit IMHO.

cant see Brown leaving a nice, plush job in a successful team for the unknown called the nbl.
