Re: The SEN Thread 2

Can't wait for overnights tonight.
Bill will be fired up with his beloved Richmond having a win. What about those Carlton Supporters too!

Re: The SEN Thread 2

SEN really does football well. They have great callers in their lineup with Eddie, Dermott, Huddo, KB, Granlan, etc. And lets hope their rating get back up to where they belong now that footy is back.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Comical error by Doran, must really have been short on questions if he's resorting to creating fictional players. Lucky for him Ellis wouldn't have a great deal of AFL knowledge.

Maybe Mark meant that famous Basketballer Lester Ellis!

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Today was great on SEN. Schibecci was in good form and he and Mark Allen were a good combination together. Casual Fridays was as good as always. Ben Dixon did really well, haven't heard much of him on SEN but liked what i heard today. The run home was great too with Pickering and Ox. All the combinations worked better than the usual set up. Keep up the good work SEN.

I think Pickering is very good and better than most other presenters on SEN. Probably because of his management work he cant have a more full time position on air, but I think he is a great presenter and speaks well. Schibecci always does a great job filling in for other hosts. Dixon is OK, what is it with having to be an ex-Hawk player to be on Casual Friday?? Get another club represented one day please.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Not sure if anyone else heard this, but Snoran was doing an interview with the SPort Minister Kate Ellis at lunchtime, and actually asked her if she was related to the former Adelaide player Shane Ellis.....did he mean Shane Ellen? Does he have any clue?

SEN - how much longer can you allow the very important program running during the working day to be hosted by a guy that clearly has extremely limited knowledge of all sports? How long can it go on?

To quote a former tennisgreat ''You cannot be serious''

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Just fallen of my seat '' Tambling may surpass Buddy Franklin'' pearls of wisdom from Dave from Stkilda.
Did Richmond win the flag last night?:eek:

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Aha did Dave from St Kilda really say that?

I know Tony doesn't really like Dave, he always is quick to get rid of him when he is on.

They just said at the end of the program that the gladiators of sport will be taking a break for 6 months due to Finey's Final Siren.

Although there is a possibility they will pop up during All Night Sport.

Hopefully BP and Franka gets them in.

Yes i heard Tony Schubecki this morning and he put forward a terrific program, I like when he interviews Steven J Peake rather than Patrick Smith. Gives a bit of variety especially from the point of view of a lawyer rather than a jounralist.

When he fills in does he ever have Patrick Smith on?

Well picked up on "Diamond" Dave. Several months ago DFSK seemed to hang up on Tony after he was challenged on a leftist non-footy rant as DFSK slurped up to Stephen J. on the Gladiators.

The next time DFSK was on he apologized claiming his phone dropped out due to home renovations(?).Tony was pretty dismissive and gave Dave short shrift. Seems Tony’s picked up that Dave’s a tosser.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

To SEN Management, can you see to it that that peanut Billy from Heidelberg never goes to air again? I mean, good on him knowing how to use a telephone given his limited mental capacity, and he should be commended for being toilet trained (I'm assuming), but put a quota on him or something. And he's a Richmond supporter too, which is understandable given that being dropped on his head as a kid explains all of his obvious problems.

Oh come on! Seriously! The guy only ever rings up after midnight, he is what footy is all about, he has a lot of passion, he rings up whether his team loses or wins. I always enjoy listening to him to see what he has to say.

Give Billy a break.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

And lets face it, the best thing about Richmond sitting atop the ladder will be listening to Billy and his cohorts calling for Wallaces head as they free fall to the wooden spoon.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Just discussing the details of a book by forget his name that details Geelong season. Funny how Doran thinks Geelong got it wrong in terms of keeping things tight and not being open towards the media.

Former Geelong Advertiser sports editor Simon Townley has also written a similar book.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

LOL some North Melbourne fan got raspberried by Finey and the callers last night, after giving Melbourne a big spray on Finey's final siren ..

LOL, he was the definition of a 'radio' troll, but the sad thing is, I reckon for the most part he was right (I mean if u were a kid, WTF would u want to barrack for the demons anyway)

Re: The SEN Thread 2

The other day someone said they were 43 and then they asked BP if they were his age and he said no way i'm not quite that old yet.

So how old is BP?
Mid 30s?
Anybody actually know.

i heard that... i thought Finey was spot on... that bloke was a troll, he absolutely ripped into the MFC, and made me quite angry to be honest... thought he knew everything about the club when half his facts were wrong, and he got what he deserved...

as Finey said, coming from a North supporter made it even worse, because he was critisicing us for all the problems they have and have been through...

Re: The SEN Thread 2

One of the most pleasing aspects of this survey is that they are up to 6.1 from 3.2 with people aged 25-39.

Thats their demographic.

However it also shows just how crap the radio survey system is when there are great big jumps like this all over the place.

Re: The SEN Thread 2

Nice rebound in the ratings with all timeslots getting a boost.

Went from 2.6 to 3.6 overall.

http://www.nielsenmedia.com.au/files/melbourne208.pdf

Good rebound:thumbsu: but MG rating less than Doran shows how weak it is. SEN need to do something about MG or they'll never have a big jump in ratings. Have a look at the AW ratings in that file, breakfast got 19 and Ernie Sigley only got 9.9. Doran shouldn't be rating more than MG. They've got three blokes on everyday and should be putting on a show thats worth hearing instead of the shit i hear everytime i give them another go.:thumbsd:

You can't compare MG to Ernie Sigley's show. It is a percentage of listeners at that time, not raw numbers.

Overall SEN have more listeners aged 10-39 than 3AW. I think MG's ratings hold up very well when compared to other SEN shows. 3AW have such a good breakfast show, its very hard for them to compete, but they are doing OK.
