I am offically over the four diegos. SEN needs a soccer show that does justice to sport. These guys don't seem to really know their stuff and always talk about left of field topics like Ronaldo and the trans.
I know some people like that sort of radio but I would prefer serious talk about the games played. They do justice to transfer talk but thats about it.
Born in the USA is exactly the type of style/format they need to achieve. Steve and Ed analysed the conference playoffs, stating why Detroit and Spurs lost and who would influence the Celtics v Lakers final. They make better use of the callers as well.
ESPN soccernet presspass is a great show on TV and thats the sort of styled analysis I want to hear on radio. The 4 diegos just like talking amongst themselves about Liverpool.

Ah... more Nick Darcy today. Even if he did get his way and got into the team, the swimmers wouldn't exactly welcome him in.

He still has to stay away from 5 of them, for what exact reason I don't know.

I can only hope he gets bashed some time. He deserves it.

Good on MG for previewing the NBA final and speaking to a reporter from Boston, but every time they mention it, they treat it like its curling or sheep dog trials or some other weird minor sport they know nothing about. And no, saying "Larry Bird" and "Kobe Bryant" doesn't count as knowing a lot about this series.

Andy Maher pretends to be an expert (as he does with most sports). Don't think he could name two players who are playing in the series. He probably thinks Shaq is still playing in LA.

At least Doran doesn't pretend to know about every sport in the world.

When MG were talking to this reporter from Boston, the only things they knew about the NBA Final were the teams, that its Boston's first final series since the 80s and Kobe plays for LA.

Is some research too much to ask? KB is about to speak to our man Steve, I bet KB knows a little more than that.

First Sally Robbins, then Nick D'Arcy, now Shane Warne. Doran and Thompson will be on this dead horse until the Ashes next year.

What I gathered from what Warne said was if things were absolutely desperate, he'll come out and play.

If there isn't much news about local sports start talking about the Stanley Cup final this morning, preview the NBA finals, preview EURO 2008 etc..
Doran's show can get a bit repetitive, but that's cause he doesn't have the knowledge of some other presenters.

I think most of the programs on SEN yesterday avoided the beat up except for Doran's program. Matt Thompson alerted us to what happened when Clarkson left. It's these two that keep beating up those dead stories or non-stories.

And imagine sending both of them to the Olympics. Probably wont be hearing too much sports coverage and more about the off-field stuff.

Imagine Grant Hackett winning gold and these two interviewing him. "Well done Grant on gold, how's your weight? What are your thoughts on Nick D'Arcy? Should he be here competing?"

To be fair the Clarkson non story got featured on the ch 10, 7 and 9 news service as their main news story. Its just what the media does now decide something is newsworthy and then flog the hell out of it. Would be pretty stupid of Mark Doran and Matt Thompson to ignore the major sports news of the day especially when it all started at SEN itself.

Described a bunch of facebook photos about one of the chicks involved in Buddy-gate earlier this week. Basically said that cause she had rauncy pics, Buddy must be innocent... I'm sure kevie will comment on that.

I actually think Rita sounded pretty biased (being a Hawk fan) based on a lot of her previous comments about Wayne Carey and the like.

She didn't say Buddy was innocent, just the girls aren't all they've been built up to seem. Which was smart and proper girls with "long term relationship and works for a pharmaceutical company".

The thing she's defending Buddy on is that he didn't do anything illegal or totally wrong. They were in the nightclub and he propositioned her. That happens every night.
