Yes he did.

He said that he didn't like my reports by suggesting that they make people go to sleep.

Mate, if you are going to be putting yourself out in the media, you had better learn how to take criticism very quickly...either that, or stay away from this thread, then u wont get upset...:thumbsu:

Ben,did you notice the question mark ?
I was asking Daytripper if they mean't the reports put them to sleep.Don't take yourself so seriously.I've never even heard your netball reports.

If you don't like it, don't say anything.

if you are to be in the media you need to tell some home truths every now and then. sadly some in the media (particularly retired players) are too scared to bag current players, or ex team mates.

you can be a journo and not be critical.

dont agree there mate. seeing that you're on what during the late evening, or post midnight, ppl are usually asleep. i think that's what he was alluding too.

Please tell me its not a whole hour of this ice crap?

They talked about the ice for half an hour. What do you want, half an hour more of AFL? I think it was great to hear about the ice, I might even go watch a game after listening to that segment. It is a 24-hour sports station, and if you cant even have a variety of sports coverage in your overnight time slot, then when the hell are they going to do it?

French Open 2008

D. Ferrer def L. Hewitt: 6-2, 3-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4

I didn't really watch the French Open this year so didn't realise he lost against Ferrer in 5 sets. I looked up that stat at the start of the year assuming he hadn't lost one since.

I'm mistaken but still Stoney was wrong.

Trying my best not to be a smartass, but his record before this year in 5 set matches was 25 wins, 9 losses (3 in Davis Cup, 2 at the French, 1 Wimbledon, 1 Aus, 1 US and 1 Stuttgart).

Like I said though, I agree with the sentiment, no way Lleyton is a choker.

World Sport Overnight was the best.
Then it was death when they took it off and had feature hours.
Then when All Night Sport came back it was really good for a while and now it has turned to sh!t.

This all may be a bit out of date as I dont really listen anymore except for when I cant sleep...
the 'local footy hour' is an absolute bore, as someone said, its just people reading scores from the paper. its good for the 2 minutes they discuss your league/club but other than that no one cares.
GBU Crew isn't too bad and the Gladiators are/were still pretty good yet nothing like when Tony Schubecci (?) was on.

The best show on is One Week At A Time with Mark Franklin and Luke Mather. Often listen if im home on a saturday night or come home froma a party not out of it. treasure hunt quite good.

In terms of home truths, what exactly are you talking about?

I am trying to establish in the media, so being critical before building up a profile can be disastrous but do agree with making some comments/revealing home truths once you are established.

Yeah I think it was a case of me misunderstanding the post about sleeping.

I'm glad you corrected me but i'm sure i looked it up when Hewitt won that 5 set match that went till like 5 in the morning talking to a friend saying i read on wikipedia (now i know not always the best source) that Hewitt had never lost a 5 set match. Can you show me the website you found that information from?

They read out so much crap on the BGU crew. Last night they were after the great number seventeen in world sport.

They read out both of my pathetic SMS that I didn't expect to be read out.

* 17 stone is what the great Tony Schibecci weighs
* In 2021, Rafael Nadal will win his 17th consecutive French Open

Why bother, BP? I was just testing them to say how pathetic the show really is. Next week I might send an SMS saying I ate 18 carrots for dinner, and they'll probably read that out too.

Dylan Howard now hosting All Night Sport, for tonight at least.

Didn't realise him and Hutchy were mates. Makes a bit of sense really

For all your criticism, I thought Dylan Howard did a good job. The bits I heard he was scoring the footy and had good coverage of Simon Gerrands Tour De France win. I wonder if he is going to become a regular? He and BP would be good.....

Too many voices though in that first hour. Leave it to the Monday panel of Stoney and Jonty. They know their stuff.

Doran doesn't like the Tour De France.

Super surprised.... not. And he tells us in the paper the other week that he is passionate about sport.

Add that to the list of this "sport lover":
He hates the French Open and want's clay banished. He said the British Open would have been boring if Norman wasn't playing.
He isn't a sport lover he just like's watching a particular sport when the big names are playing or it's a big event eg. he probably hates soccer but loves the World Cup.

That pretty much sums him up. I bet he even thought the Wimbledon final sucked cause Roger got done.

I've noticed that MG, KB and Finey talk golf with Marko and TRH talk with Brett Ogle, but Doran doesn't talk Golf.

Matt Keenan talks to MG and Phil Wrockna talks to KB and TRH about cycling, but Doran doesn't talk cycling.

Doran doesn't talk any motor sport either. Or American sports.

The list could go on...

Doran's producer should get some of the blame for this too. It doesn't all fall on the host.

You never know, they may have done research that the people listening between noon and 4pm are all over 60 and don't particularly want to hear about US sports or motor racing.

But his producer is a ..... oops I said I wouldn't post here anymore didn't I. ;)
