God, there are some whingers in this world.....I actually think SEN are doing a great job of the olympics...including Mark Doran..........It can't be easy...........some people are never happy or satisfied..

I think the criticism here was of his describing a game between the wrong teams.
I would have thought basic rule number 1 is to know who is playing in a match you are commentating in. ie Carlton v Coll is not Carlton v Ess etc
I didnt here what they are referring to but I think that was their criticism.

Ray Hadley is officially a w***er. I thought he was joking at first when he was complaining about not having a cup of coffee, but he has brought it up three times in the past 10 minutes like we all care whether he is low on sugar. This guy would be difficult to work with. Very pleased with himself.

My own complaint is that SEN have misunderstood the majority of those that tune into SEN.
After the Footy they should have had Finey and Final Siren then gone to the Olympics for the rest of the night and after.
But they dont seem to understand what most who listen to SEN want to talk about.
Talkback last few days on the MG ,Hungry for Sport , Good Oil Run Home 99.9 percent was about footy , cannot recall any calls about the Olympics.
The decision makers at SEN , is it that Program Manager Johnstone the man still calling the shots ?? he has called the wrong one here again.
To bolt from the Footy to the Olympics but then to go back to SEN programs later is the wrong way around.
No Final Siren ,yet this Johnstone bloke is happy to then as someone said here have a poker program go on instead whilst the Olympics are on and the Australians are involved in some basketball match at the same time as someone is holding aces high .
Seriously wierd decisions made at SEN .. love the station but have to question what they do sometimes.

Is anyone else getting sick of Ray Hadley reading out self complementary emails about how good he is at covering the olympics. It's like 5 every hour.

Yeah Hadley is like the best commentator but as a person he is an absolute prick. I remember the crap he was going on about when SEN took the NRL calls was pathetic.
I kinda wish they got someone else in to do the olympic commentary then he may realise he ain't so good. Although if they did he would be calling it a disgrace and saying if you don't want me then i'll leave...then probably go to 2ue or something.
Having said that his calls are quite awesome...

Please tell me if I am wrong, but is it basic journalistic duty if you are reporting on a breaking story about a serious accident where there are serious injuries, to get definite confirmation first before you give names of who is involved?

Our friend Mr Thompson came on regarding the bus accident and actually named 2 Aussie rowers who who supposedly on the bus, then comes back 10 minutes later to say they actually werent on the bus! Too bad if any of their families were listening in the first place!!!

i am his number 1 fan and think he should be on more and more i dont stand a chance of stalking him as he wants to get into the pants of allanah from footy heads.i wish bp was on more and i cant believe that the louther guy is the host of allnight sport tonight he makes me go to sleep when he talks and he is also dumb sounding. even i know the swimmer is eamon sullivan not eamon smith that louther called him

I think the idea is to attract new customers to SEN. If they can get some new listeners during the Olympics they might stay with the station afterwards.

The danger in that is that the regulars may switch over and might not come back.

They wont stay with SEN if they continue their weekend line up etc

Up to just after midnight or so " SEN Official Olympics station "
Little bit later " SEN Official replays and best of Station "

What would any new listeners to SEN think when they tune in for the Olympics then if they stay on they discover it is only a 18 hr a day station on the weekends going to replays of the Morning Glory and other shows when the Games finished on Saturday night.
Surely for SENs image it had to get rid of turning the place off shutting down the live stuff on weekends at least for the Olympics weekends.
Actually for SENs own image and reputation full stop it has to stop this practice on weekends 24/7 is not correct at all

I was watching that HockeyRoos game last night and was going to flick it onto SEN to see if any of the SEN commentators were commentating on it but I didnt.
For the life of me I never even thought it would not have been live on SEN as well at the same time and that bloody poker program on instead.
They just dont seem to be able to get the right balance when Finey finishes do they with some crazy show decisions
SEN seems to have a weak link or is let down badly with what happens when the clock strikes midnight with alot of posts critical about overnights since SEN began.
I am not up on weeknights much but the weekends and the best of replays get me down, why not just scrap everything they seem to have tried to do after midnight and go back to the English Sports Station they use to have .
With the English football season underway it would be perfect to listen to and would solve the garbage they serve up overnights at the moment.

The fact that you know his name and his business goes to show that his advertising gimmick works. Its put on so you will remember it.
