MG this morning played a very funny outtake from Schibecci interviewing the Olympic athletes in Sydney from yesterday. Went something like:

Tony: "Lauren Jackson, congratulations and welcome home..."
Interviewee: "I'm not Lauren Jackson"
Tony: "Who are you then?"
Interviewee: "That's Lauren over there"
Tony: "Oh I'm sorry, but welcome home and congratulations anyway..."
Interviewee: "No, bugger you I'm not doing this interview"

It was Susie Batkovic apparently.

Tony was a good sport and came on and talked about the mistake. Not everyone would let that be played.

Wow! That is brilliant. I cannot wait to give him some serious grief. God, I love Schibeci!!

I don't often get to hear the start of the show now, but I do hear the last half hour....

Just a ridiculous name for a SPORTS show IMO........regardless of who the sponsor is..

It sounds like a FOOD show..

There was nothing wrong with All Night Sport or Overnight Sport....by the name, you would know what type of show it was..

This interview with Roland Perry about Bradman by Richo on at the moment is one of the finest I've heard on the station.

I like Marko and The Ox, but they made a huge blue when taking talkback about the GC17 draft picks tonight.

The first caller thought the draft picks were for this year and anyone drafted by GC would have to sit out of footy for two years. They didn't realise the mistake, then a few minutes later they made the correction that its next years draft... which was also wrong.

Havent listened for the last couple of hours, has the new Sports Central announcer (Someone Beitzel, i am guessing a son/relation of Harry, more jobs for mates I see) managed to realise that the World Number 1 female tennis player is not Anna Ivankovic yet? Heard it early this morning, thought he would be alerted by the next time i heard, but alas no....

He's been around a long time as a print sports journalist. Has worked at The Age and HS and various other papers.

Not his fault he got himself a job on radio.

I heard a lot of this interview and I agree, it was fantastic from Richo. Showed a genuine knowledge and appreciation for the interviewee and the subject of the interview.

I've only listened to bits of it over the couple of years it's been on.I'm a motorsport nut but a radio show of it just doesn't excite me.

No, never said it was is fault, but surely if you give somebody such a job on a SPORTS station, he at least should be knowledgable enough to know the name of the worlds best female tennis player? Then again, Doran....enough said...

I was interested to hear the midnight host Brett Phillips commentating on more than one game for SEN this weekend as well as heard him hosting the morning show as well.
He was did a pretty good job as an AFL commentator but wondered if he was a late replacement back up like they said who the other back ups are.
I enjoy Fineys work but have never heard him do any AFL games on SEN and wondered if he or any others have their files stamped not allowed to commentate.
Mark Allan does all the scores each week at SEN games , Tony S , Finey ,Jason Richardson just wondering why we dont hear these and others or where they sit in the SEN back up AFL commentators list etc

Forgot to add Matt Thompson , if you are good enough to commentate Olympic games matches and events then is he also next in if needed for AFL matches seeing SEN do so many these days and you will always have emergencies where back up commentators are needed .
