Pretty simple really.

Its cheap.

Whats cheap, SEN or the Best of ,or both ?
If the Radio for the blind 1026am can afford to have the English soccer on after midnight on Saturday then surely the Home of Sport 24/7 can afford to have it as well or something better than the best of bullshit .

Richo and Turfy are great in the morning.

I caught the start of the show on Monday and they started off by saying something like..."Firstly we'd like to thank Andy, Tim and Bill for filling in for us over the past 3 months"

Never truer words spoken

They are quite refreshing and really seem to have settled in like they are the regulars.
With Tim, Andy and Billy their priorities will always be ch 7 10 and 9 , SEN will always be the lesser of their media roles so it is only natural that after so long they might start to come across as being tired and old news .
With Dr Turf and Richo I couldnt tell you what else they did for a living in the media world so its also natural that they will give this chance their all.
Sooner or later the rookie footballer ( Turf and Richo ) is going to get a chance and maybe the veterans ( Tim Billy Andy )might have lost the drive .
Just like your favourite tv show even they run their race and people like something new and fresh .

you can tell the difference already in MG.

other sports are getting a run. now im not a fan of aths and surfing but whenever richo is on they always get mentioned. no issues with that. ernie merrick's been on and given decent air time. big diff between these guys and the other morons

At a guess I would say Radio for the blind would be government subsidised.

SEN would have to purchase the rights to transmit the EPL out of their own pocket. Its running at a pretty slim margin as it is so they would rightly think that this is one service they can do without.

Far cheaper just to whack on a replay of the weeks events since people rarely listen at that time anyway.

At the end of the day, SEN is a business and they have to do whats best for their bottom line.

Matt Thompson just provided further evidence as to why a strongly dislike him. His favourite story from last year's Australian Open was someone from the Williams sisters camp reflecting the sun off their watch into the eyes of the competitor.
You'd think that he would appreciate the sport itself, but he loves controversial incidents and always takes the story away from what should be the story. Like this years AA awards, the story was Adam Cooney's 'season ending knee injury', not who made the AA team. He annoys me.
That's the end of my rant.

Glad Richo and Turf are going well in the morning. I don't listen that early in the morning so I only catch the end of the show, but I'm sure they are an improvement on the other three. Billy, Andy and Tim have gone stale. I don't mind Billy but I don't think he is that good on radio, he works much better with a camera in front of him. Agree with the guy who said SEN appears to be a secondary job, because they don't seem as interested compared to their TV commitments. SEN needs to come back next year with a fresh approach. I think The Run Home and KB's show are still good. Francis and Ox work well together and KB has a considerable amount of sporting knowledge so he will always be good to listen too.
Everyone knows what I think about Doran. Time for Harf to take over. Maybe Andy can move to that timeslot and co host with him because I don't Millhouse on radio.
Finey's normally pretty good, but I worry about the AFL offseason with him. I like Mark Allen, so it would be good if he could be on more times during Finey's show. Wild Wednesday is normally my favourite hour on Finey's program. Also bring back the original 20 question quiz because it was gold and after 10pm there isn't much worth listening to.
Put Born In the USA on alternating nights with the Four Diegos because come Wednesday there is nothing to talk about in the soccer world unless the Champions League is on.
Obviously I don't know about all the other commitments these guys have so I don't know what's feasible and what's not, but a change would be good.

Schedule:
Morning Glory: Dr. Turf and Richo
Hungry for Sport: KB
The Good Oil (change the name to something else): Harford and Andy?
The Run Home: Ox and Francis
Evenings: Finey (Mark Allen to be on more often and bring back the orignial quiz).

11pm slot:
Monday: Four Diegos
Tuesday: Born In the USA
Wednesday: Four Diegos
Thursday: Born In the USA
Friday: Four Diegos

We'll this post went from complaining about Matt Thompson to a bloody essay.
