On Monday Doran talk callers asking them to nominate the mens and women finalists. One bloke rang up and said Marat Safin would win. Doran quickly replied, "he's not even playing". After laughing it off, upon further inspection, he realised he was.

Maybe he only looked at the seeds and anyone outside of the 64 seeded players were non-existent or doesn't give a rats. At least he knew who he was.

ox said in relation to some afl topic "dropped like a hot sponge". then someone called in and rattled off a few ox-isms and said the aforementioned stuff up has been added to the list. i think the other ones were

I like Ox on SEN, I think he's good value for entertainment. Just the serious roles don't suit him.

Didn't Sam Newman do this interview last year, before his Caroline Wilson stunt? Cos Doran said that Sam was going to apologise tonight, then resume the replay with Sam saying he has no regrets over some incident.

I've heard that interview twice before. I switched off when he said they'd be replaying it today.
I like how at the start Doran tries to be cute with his interviewing and Sam treats it with the contempt it deserves.

I like Ox on Sen on the run home too but can't stand his special comments on 7 and since he's been on 7 I can't listen to him do special comments on sen either.
What are people's thoughts on Casual Fridays?
I used to really like it, but its not must listening for me anymore. Maybe its just lost the freshness factor that it used to have.
Rita just seems to talk in a low breathy voice, get teased by the boys, defend anything Hawthorn, bag anything Shane Warne or Wayne Carey and that's about it.

not really a fan of the show. earlier in the shows existance there was this mystique about rita and guys would ring up and chat her up.

Still loving casual fridays. Best thing on SEN now that saturday spotlight has been booted. There were a few funny moments today and plenty of good banter which you don't get a lot of on SEN.

I first heard the Ox on 7 last year, and could not stand his special "comments"/cliches. But he is great on the Run Home, comes across as maybe not the brightest hammer in the shed but very entertaining.
I caught the tail end of Ferret's show and they replayed a snippet of the Sam Newman interview. Reading this thread, seems like that interview was done last year and not today? Still would be interesting to hear it, if only SEN had podcasts on their site.
Maybe they can get transcripts up there since they're stuck in the past...
