What happened for those who weren't listening?

The ____ing idiot asked whether Polak had been drinking before being hit by the tram on Sat. night. Greg Miller quite rightfully put him in his place.

It's a disgrace he could ask such a stupid question looking for another meia beat-up at that point in time.

Good to see Robbo getting all scientific when talking to Snoran earlier about the weekend footy.

Apparently Melbourne won yesterday cause they "had a crack" and Richmond lost on Saturday because they "caved in". Don't think there was anything more intelligent than that spoken in the whole conversation.

Maybe he can get a cricket expert to come on and tell us how the Aussies managed to slog some sixes while the Windies bowled pies last night. And a tennis guy can tell us who is smacking the ball the hardest at Wimbledon.

You can hammer him all you like, but the question had to be asked. Whether it offended people or not is not the question. Most people would have asked themselves whether drinking played a role. After all, he's a 24 year old man, coming from a team function who was hit by a tram.
Whenever there is an accident, at that hour of night, the question will be asked. Drinking is not a foregone conclusion, but it is a legitimate question.

The Magic of Mark Stone.

On Sunday night Stone rambles on about the necessity for the AFL to do something about limiting the amount of players allowed in the back fifty.

An irate caller rings in suggesting it's a stupid idea and asks Stone whether he has thought it through. Stone replies by ignoring the question and continues to talking about the evils of flooding in Friday night's game.

The now even more irate caller repeats the question: have you thought it through!?

Stone finally answers: "no," then continues to ramble on trying to justify the opinion he just admitted to not thinking through.

The Magic that is Mark Stone.

Finey announced last night that there will be a new show on SEN at midnight on Tuesdays.

It's going to be called The Bluff Poker show, talking all things poker.

you were right the gbu crew are now on tuesday mornings they just finished their show and the poker show is on wednesday mornings.
i was wrong about bp getting rid of the gbu crew.
bp has given mark irwin the ass instead

If you read the 2+2 Forums or any of the other poker websites you will see that there is plenty to fill in one hour per week.

If anything, its not enough.

I don't see the problem with asking if he'd been drinking.
It's a fairly obvious question to ask when the club says he'd been at a club function and then somehow he doesn't see a tram late at night.

Sometimes he combines his metaphors purposely though. Such as "It's not rocket surgery"

Stumbled across the schubecster interviewing Matt Lappin and quoting ''player x had been a revolution up forward''Umm think that maybe revelation up forward. Loved that Beatles song Revelation.:p

Doran taking calls this afternoon about Will Minson. After a couple of calls, I swear he replied in single sentences that would have lasted over a minute each. Something like:

"I guess we don't know the full story and yeah it would be good if someone was able to say exactly what was said but if Kane Cornes said something involving his mother or his father then I guess Kane Cornes isn't totally blameless in this but if it comes out that all Kane Cornes said was something about how Will Minsons brother Hugh had a small heart then I think Will has overreacted but if it comes out that there was Kane said something a bit more to initiate the conversation then I think Will Minson could be in a little bit of trouble but until someone comes out and tells us exactly what was said then we don't really know how to deal with this situation."

I swear that is no exaggeration and he even went on to introduce the next caller without taking a breath.

Just started. Paul Khoury, Sean Callendar (from Bluff Mag), Sarah Bilney (aussie pro, in 2nd clip below). I've played a few times with Paul Khoury, good bloke. Paul below is interviewing Hachem.

LOL, first caller is taking the piss.

And another idiot. I think we're hearing a sign of things to come. Majority of callers to this show will be idiots. Need to screen callers better.

Sarah Bilney on now. She's had 5 cashes at this year's WSOP, was pregnant in 2007, had 4 cashes in 2006 and 2 in 2005, including 63/5619 (for US $150k) in the Main Event which Joe Hachem won.

Heard the last 1/2 hour.
Too many pub poker players calling up with stupid questions for my liking.

Hosts have to learn not to treat their audience like simpletons otherwiise the only callers they will get will be simpletons.

I'm not listening much lately as I am semi retired these days but when I have listened it's not good. He is mono toned and almost I would say moronic, the run home os more entertaining as they let the audience have an opinion thats different to theirs.

With Doran he stopped reading my sms's or taking calls from me as I always say it's Tess. Is he the Anti-Tess?

missed the show, what were the callers like?

one idiot pretending to be Indian or something said his wife plays and was wondering if she should grow a beard to hide facial tells.

hosts tended to humour the idiot callers rather than boot them.

Word is Dorans ratings have dropped through the floor this survey and his position is not 100% guaranteed.

Perhaps a few calls/emails to his advertisers will push management(St Kilda directors) to replace Doran with someone who is not so ..... annoying.

http://www.beerwinespirits.com.au/enquiries.html

I noticed today he is re-playing an interview with the current St Kilda coach as his play of the day, I don't listen much these days but it seems everytime I hear Doran he has St Kilda on. If Eddie was in his position and had as much Collingwood as Doran has St Kilda there would be hell to pay.

Doran said that St Kilda don't want to finish 8th because either Geelong, Hawthorn or the Bulldogs will finish 1st. Apparently 1st plays 8th in the finals.

Lol... oh lord. So that means they don't want to finish 6th or 7th either as the top 3 spots will be occupied by those 3 if he's working off his own final series.

So StKilda are now aiming for 5th spot.

How can a general sporting fan not know that? How can a footy fan not know that? How can someone who is paid to talk on radio in Melbourne for 4 hours a day not know that? Has he not paid attention to footy finals the last 5 or so years?

I'm no Doran apologist however :
We are only into week 2 of 5 of the next ratings period.

I don't see how 'word' could have gotten out that his ratings are no good now. In fact, its impossible.
