Andrew Maher from Holden Crunch Time on the Saturday morning pre-game show should to be congratulated for his respect for women's issues with his on-going support of the wonderful, stunning, vibrant, no doubt warm-hearted, and somewhat hot, Zara Garde-Wilson - a victim of trumped up charges and the never-ending persecution by a corrupt police force. When will they ever leave this clearly innocent women alone.
Didak, Benny, Buddy, Zara - so much injustice.

Thumbs up for Mistah Maher whom is not just a sporting thinker but clearly a social thinker, too. He's not scared to canvass his strong considered opinions on SEN.

Not to mention his soap boxing about Tony Mokbel a few weeks ago...

Re: The SEN Thread 3

LOL call off the season now, Jim from hawthorn last night declared a certain Hawks premiership this season ...

Also I fear for his health, if Buddy gets rubbed out, he was so fired up last night, I fear he'll have a stroke or a heart attack if Buddy Gets suspended ...

What a Nutjob ..

Re: The SEN Thread 3

Love Fineys work he handled with ease all of those callers who were having a go at him for his raising of Matthew Lloyds future and he just brushed them off as they rang in on Friday night on the Siren.
Love how he tells everyone that the other football stations dont care about the listeners like SEN and thats why they finish up early.
Finey do us a favour though when SEN closes shop at 1am and goes to the Bullshit best of ....can you get someone to just replay your whole show again.
it is more relevant , topical and current and worth listening to than the crap we are fed as best of bullshit.
The other night I heard the same Alan Thompson swimming coach interview for the third or fourth time in two weeks and it is so out of date they ask him if Nick Darcy is in danger of not going to the Olympics.
Who ever at SEN has the job of putting together and organising the Best of Bullshit obviously has no thought what so ever about thinking about replays that are current and even worth listening to , I wouldnt be surprised if they have a dart board with every interview on SEN for the last three months and whatever they hit they play.
Alan Thompson must be the 20 as its been hit by the darts every week.
So Finey when SEN closed its doors and goes home to just get them to play your whole show again it would be better to listen to and more relevant to whats just happened in footy.
Mind you Australia v Windies , the Tiger Woods golf , the European soccer would be more relevant

Re: The SEN Thread 3

Am I the only one sick of hearing Billy Brownless' call of Bolt's world-record in the 100m a few weeks ago?

"On your marks... SSSSEEEEEETTTTTTTT"

Very, very annoying. It was funny after the first and second times, but after the 394th time is starts to get incredibly annoying. They play it every second or third ad break. Why?

Re: The SEN Thread 3

Richo and Dr Turf on MG...

More please. Great hosts.

Agree 100%. They were interesting, funny, had a sense of humour.....unlike the the usual team. SEN management....please put Dr Turf and Richo on full time....or Brett Phillips....or Finey...or Mark Allen...or Steve and Ed or....almost anyone who will do research and can keep us informed and entertained.

Right at the start of the program, Doran said that Tiger sank a putt on the 18th to tie the scores and the playoff hole is starting right now.

Tony Schibecci was only on about 10-15mins ago telling us they will come back tomorrow to play.

Are you serious?

That putt to tie was at about 10:50am this morning (I had an email describing it with that time written on it).

That's got to be in the top 10 Doran moments.

Here we go, Doran and Robbo watching the NBA and Robbo's giving little summary of what just happened. Doran's asking why isn't a player getting tagged and other Aussie Rule terms.

Doran obviously knows nothing about golf, he just said tomorrow's play-off is match play.

maybe he was watching foxsports news or something and thought it was live? :D

Morning Glory’s Week Of Turfology

Turf-speak

The opening was a snoozefest; it was out on the grounds of the MCG and there was about five speeches that all imitated each other; they all said the same things. They had a choir singing, it was just awful. Sipping ordinary wine and crap finger food.
- On the opening of the National Sports Museum at the MCG in 2008

Who knows with that tribunal? They might hang him.
- On Lance Franklin report

Well if you rate its performance in the last ten years, honestly, I reckon Pol Pot would’ve been let off.
- On the AFL tribunal

Hey, hey, ay, ay, my kids may be listening. They don’t need to hear language like that when the races aren’t on.
- After Jason Richardson told a listener to get stuffed.

There’s no rhyme or reason to what goes on there. Their interpretation, intent, reckless, negligent, who knows? I think they get a bag of scrabble pieces and what ever comes out, that what they deliver. I’m tipping one, but who knows?
- On whether Lance Franklin will go or not.

You’re better off finding yourself a good professional punter and slinging him for information. You know, asking trainers and jockeys, you might as well ask your wife’s chiropodist
- On the judgement of trainers and jockeys.

Until they play Wimbledon on paella, Nadal will never beat Federer.
- Nadal’s chances of winning Wimbledon after Queens.

You have the opportunity to put your money somewhere in the vicinity of your mouth.
- On co-host Jason Richardson’s differing opinion on Nadal.

He Tried to retire him yesterday, Kevin Bartlett; and in fact if I remember correctly, when Michael Tuck was approaching KB’s games record, there were five attempts on his life. A blue Torana, KB2929, mounted the footpath virtually every day for a week.
- On Kevin Bartlett encouraging Richo to retire while equal with KB in second place Richmond’s all-time goal kicking list.

They want to travel on that road before they get stung for travelling on that road.
- referring to the walk at the opening of EastLink.

- SMS: Turfy, surely you can’t be serious, you’d take away your (8-years-old) daughter’s phone account?
Well no! But, it’s a threat. But if I catch them betting on the dogs again like I did last Saturday they’re in trouble.

Yeah I’ve been reading the ‘Net, apparently the Czech’s have been suffering badly from blockbuster fatigue.
- referring to Mick Malthouse when discussing Turkey’s comeback against the Czech Republic in Euro 2008.

The guy, I mean, I think he’s got coaching fatigue as well…
- on Mick Malthouse’s statement that Melbourne picking them selves up to play Collingwood.

I couldn’t go to sleep last night, I was having a lot of trouble so I just popped the soccer on and off I went. - Dr. Turf

Turfy’s Take:
Australia, here in Melbourne we have got probably the best sporting arena in the world, if not one of the best. Even Telstra Dome - magnificent sporting arena. The scoreboards are absolutely appalling. What is the point of building these magnificent arenas when you’ve got rubbish scoreboards. Made worse … by this editorial control by the thought-police where controversial decisions are not repeated. Whata they think we’re going to do sitting there in the crowd, think we’re gonna go and riot because we’ve seen a bad decision repeated on the scoreboard.

Not just in the football; I went to the Boxing Day Test match. Any sort of controversial decision there by the umpires, not repeated on the scoreboard. Why are we disenfranchised by getting the right vision, by getting controversial situations and incidents and pictures withheld from us because we actually pay money and go to the sport itself. And I’ll tell you something else … the quality of the MCG scoreboard - the picture I’m talking about is second rate. If you’ve been lucky enough to go to an international sporting event and you see the screens they’ve got at the baseball stadiums and so forth, it’s like having the world’s biggest plasma screen in front of you.
Not good enough.

Wait till Turfy gets wind of this beaut.

Dallas’ new HD scoreboard will be 49 metres long and almost 22 metres high with multiple views costing around $25 million. It will be three times the size of Godzillatron at the University of Texas stadium. The $1.1 billion dollar, 80,000 seat stadium opens in 2009. Conserving energy - Texas style.

Mea culpa:eek:
They‘ve got no hope. Chanderpaul whose been the dominant West Indian batsman over this series - in fact over the last couple of years - has torn ankle ligaments and won’t be batting.
- Two hours later: West Indies 3-235 (Chanderpaul 27not out)

Special Daics Appearance:
“You know, we can make bad decisions in life; he’s made one at five…”
- Peter Daicos, on his 5 year-old-son’s barracking for Carlton.

A nice little Turf-ism from this morning...

"Nick Darcy... got his right whack. As opposed to Simon Cowley who got his left and right whack".

I thought R**** lost all cred after his attack on us plebs that post on "Blogs" aka messageboards.
