Haha. He's a dead ringer.

Anyone else notice how far Andrew Lowther has come in the past few months? When he started I didn't think he had any radio experience (and perhaps he didn't) but now he's sensational. He has friendly chats with the callers and guests, sounds relaxed and has great sports knowledge in most fields, not just AFL - something that is the case with most of the day time hosts.

If Andrew reads this board - well done mate, you've done a great job thus far.

Please explain to me why Matt Hardy got dropped from The Drive Home.

He was on today and is funny and interesting.

you mean "the run home" ?
i didn't mind hardy, i quite like his style of humour but too much of him can be taxing. his humour tends to be fairly cerebral, dwelling on a lot from his past and things that happened back in the 70's and 80's. okay if you grew up back then and remember it but to others it may just sound like a lot of wank.
he can waffle on a bit as well, i reckon he makes more of an impact coming off the bench instead of being there all the time.
his books a good read too.

From memory Leach, Hardy and Dermie all left when SEN were struggling financially and the whole station was under a cloud regarding whether it would even survive. There was a doubt about whether their wages were going to be paid as well, so I assume Matt Hardy just found work elsewhere.

There is no doubt. They were not getting paid and either were some of the other presenters on the station. Some managed to stick around through the tough times , but if you are not getting paid to do your job, there ain't much point of sticking around.

You mean you like humorous lines such as: "You remember Peter Taylor, the off spinner from the 80s?" and "You remember Vinnie Catogio, the Carlton player from the 80s with big hair?".

That's about as funny as he gets.

Cant believe that SEN would turn down any chance to do live sport as thats their motto .
We have ads during the week that even have commentary of sports and one is the NRL world cup, last week they had the commentary of Australia and in a few minutes Australia play again.
But its not on !!!
Instead we are about to hear the 9 or 10 year old again James Willoughby.
Just rang Brett Phillips producer and he seemed more switched on than those that make the decisions at SEN
He summed it up perfectly when I asked him why they are not doing the Aussie game live.
He said " They have no idea " how right you are how right you are
Sometimes SEN does have no idea

Are you talking about the Rugby?
Who wants to listen to the Rugby though. I'd rather talkback.

Talkback about what? Maybe the League?!

It's a sports station for goodness sake.

Is there anything with SEN that makes you happy ?
All you do is bitch and moan about the station.

"Change the channel Marg"

I for one would rather listen to talkback than the Rugby League world cup. Seriously what a joke of a tournament. It is basically tri-nations with Australia, England and New Zealand, and Australia are way ahead of both those countries as well.

Francis Leach today referred to former Arsenal footballer John Hartson as a "mad Irishman". He was mad, Frank, but he was also Welsh.

This might seem trivial, but for an Arsenal supporter who makes himself out as a Premier League expert it's also as sloppy as Caroline Wilson's chop.

Maybe you should go through all of my posts and history via my BigFooty name to see there are many posts praising SEN.
My last post was only to point out that Brett Phillips producer agreed with me when I rang up to ask about the Aussie NRL World Cup game not being on SEN.
He told me that the SEN decision makers had no idea sometimes

How funny is "Educating the Eel"?

The Eel has no clue when it comes to Sport. He was asked the following questions by Andrew Lowther:

Out of Billy Brownless, Andrew Maher and Tim Watson, which one didn't play AFL.
His answer: "Definitely Tim Watson"

What position did Billy Brownless play, forward or in defence?
"Judging by the look of him, in defence"

Name two Melbourne Victory players.
"The only one I know is Michael Theoklitos"

If you needed a wicket with the last ball on the final day to win a test match, would you rather Shane Warne bowl, or Matthew Hayden?
"Matthew Hayden"

The last one was the funniest. There were a lot more questions, but I forget them all.

who is this guy?

does anyone else here get sick of terrance from toorak? mightve been funny the first few times but now..

He works on the panel... I'm guessing the production panel.

He chose radio as a career... it's all about the "radio" for him, and not "the sport". I guess you have to start somewhere.

I'm wondering what's easier listening to. Fingernails down a chalkboard, or Doran trying to talk about Boxing.

You should hear Doran when he just plain talks. Dude IT'S IRRITATING!!! I use to listen because his stuff ups and bandwagoning ammused me but now he's just too much to handle.
