heard about 30 mins of the show this morning, i think billy tried to get as many sexual innuendo jokes in.

personally happy he's gone, even though blokes will talk like blly when out with the lads, on a brekky show he needed to tne it down.

now get rid of tim.

funny hearing billy say the afl shouldnt go down the nfl path of using boundary umps to help adjudicate on field decisions cause we're australian.....and usually all things afl watson advocate the nfl methods.
I heard that deep and meaningful ''ostrayn'' Billy point. Woeful to the end :thumbsdown:What about Brownless pronounciation's. No human could be possibly be that stupid!

Christ give Billy a break will you everyone!!!

He's been there since the very start and has been a very loyal servant to SEN.

The last thing he derseves is BF people slagging off at him when hegets off his arse at 430 thendrives from Sleepy Hollow.

he will be sorely missed. Especially if they go with only Maher and Watson

Well said GoldenboyHird 5!!.....Billy is a very genuine honest decent person, who doesn't pretend to be something he is not..

I will miss his silly banter first thing in the mornings..

Cheers Billy....you put smiles on a lot of peoples faces:thumbsu:

he got paid well enough for it, do you think he's the only bloke that gets up to work at that time? andrew maher used to live somewhere out near Talbot and commute in for the week.
4.30am, jesus you'd think he was single handedly responsible for working us out of the current economic crisis. a lot of people get up early to work for 10 or 12 hours a day for less than half of what he gets. how many BF people on here would be up before daylight and come home after daylight?
billy was on a very good wicket for a small contribution, and as for him being loyal, apart from k-rock i'd doubt that any other radio stations would've been interested anyway.
he milked it for everything and was really only the 3rd wheel of that show.
the act stopped being funny a while ago.

I accept that but his stupid commentary on female sportswoman were pathetic, embarassing and ****ing stupid

If they want to find a cheaper like-for-like replacement on MG they should go after Scott Cummings and give him a special comments gig on the weekends.

The funniest moment they replayed was Billy trying to ask the transexual golfer a question without crossing 'the line'. He was a blubbering mess.

Some of us even work nights! Gotta a p*** poor arguement when telling us what time poor ol' Billy has to roll out of bed each morning

You just sound a bit jealous to me....

You just sound a bit jealous to me....
Of course he's jealous.
Not exactly a hard gig to get up at 4.30am, read the back part of the paper, talk about frothies, throw in a bit of sexual innuendo, knock off at 9am and be back home by 10.30am.

No research needed (well not for Bill anyway - let the others do the hard yards) and get paid well for it.

Where do I sign ??????

Big drop in ratings out today. No surprise.

Fairly stable in the 25-54 demograophic as well as the grocery buyers though which is a good sign as :
1. It shows they have a core audiience that will stick with them during the non footy season.
2. These are the groups the advertisers want.

The more severe losses came in the kiddies (10-25) and the oldies (over 55) age groups which affected their overall ratings.

haha. Doran called me a muppet (seriously getting overused now). He's asking everyone on tips to change the show next year and I sent a text saying get a new host.
Did he read out the text or was it a reply to you? I haven't been able to listen to SEN at work since June :(... or :) depending on the program.

He was asking for tips on how to make the Good Oil better next year so I sent a text saying "to help freshen up the show SEN should get a new host".
Then at the end of his show he goes "and to the guy that sent a text saying that The Good Oil needs a new host........(paused for about 5 seconds) you're a muppet".

Now that I think about it I'm sure numerous people sent in a similar SMS, but it was still funny.

nah not jealous, envious maybe.
i've had to terminate some employees recently due to the economy downturn, meanwhile billy gets to cruise through mg and the footy show giving very little back except for jumping into some orange tights and dropping his guts in the studio occasionally. i think he took most of us for a ride and mg will be better for it in the long run. this week they've actually covered more sport in the mornings and been less sidetracked with other rubbish.

That's not just funny, it's pure Gold.:thumbsu: I'm guessing Snoran was thinking about how to improve his show and probably fell asleep. Maybe he has thought about researching the vast Internet sports blogs and radio from around the world for ideas that could be applied to an Aussie format.

'Nah, I'll go to the listeners, researching sounds a lot like too much work, and a little tiring.'

Give Billy a break? Seems SEN have already cut him some slack by allowing him to work there for 5 years. Many media stations may have moved earlier and forced changes to their on-air staff to eliminate the sameness that MG has had over the years. And as for being a servant, sorry, loyal servant, I haven't seen any indisputable evidence that he wouldn't have bolted at the first better opportunity that came along.

What's kind of amazing is the references to Mr. Frothy rising from a slumber at 4:30 a.m. to drive from Geelong to his place of work in Melbourne. One of the benefits of living in Geelong is the "benefits" that are afforded to some people that are well connected. (;)). I may be wrong but I believe Sir Frothy had the use from time to time of a supplied set of newish wheels for that mostly traffic-free run up the highway.

Yep, it's amazing how people start work at ungodly hours, but this is often because early starts enable many of those people work a second job so they too can give their family a desired lifestyle. And still for less moolah combined than Brownless made in his few hours per day on SEN.

It's also interesting how Bill, choosing to live in Geelong, while choosing to work in Melbourne has become an issue to consider for some SEN listeners that post in this thread? That is called a "you-problem." I don't know Brownless but I'll guarantee you his loyal-servant attitude is to his family first, as it should be. But His Frothiness has had his fingers into several time consuming for-profit media endeavours. Multiple weekly appearances on several TV/radio footy programs, while also having non-sporting/media related business involvement. That's a lot on his plate: HIS problem. Called a you-problem.

Much of the grumbling about Brownless is that he was under prepared for his Morning Glory radio show. As stated for many months, he just wandered in and mostly used the daily newspapers to wing his way through three hours of waffle, and often attempted to dip into the well of Benny Hill humour. That's not a slur on the great Benny Hill who wrote and sang his own material and never swore to get a laugh, unlike today's allegedly great comedy icons. He parodied how men do and say dumb stupid things when in the vicinity of a beautiful women. Biff Brownless' attempted sexual double entendres could hardly be confused with any great comedian's efforts.

Maybe there is some defence as the station seems to have had limited resources over the years to provide support in the way of knowledge of various sports and prepared material for on-air staff to use. Imagine looking up from a microphone for support on a subject and seeing the likes of a Matt Thompson's clueless mug looking back at you. Australian sports radio requires the broadest coverage of sports in any country.

Frothy, whackity-whack, muppet, repeated clichés and deliberately mispronounced words and the use of malapropisms mixed with poorly timed interjections and talking off air while identities from sports that he didn't like, care, or appreciate, were interviewed became the staple of his work on MG. Another over indulgent activity that warranted criticism was the in-jokes that he loved to have with Tim, Andy Maher, as well as a number of guests that left the listener thinking WTF was that about.

One thing he did approach with seriousness for 5 years was when a Geelong player was reported or in off-field trouble, there was "nothing much in it," and "lets move on." Yeah, loyal servant you bet.

Brownless was lazy doing this show and made little to no effort to apply himself, in a period where the Internet information highway makes easy to get at least somewhat informed. And in the post-Garry Lyon years he ramped up the crassness which falls flat - after the first year at least.

"Give Billy a break?" Thanks the heavens he's now giving me a break - from him.

That's the only part of the show I heard and it was hilarious. He sounded mighty pissed at the suggestion. He did say he should ring the texter and offer them the hosting gig.Aussie Eagle,if he rings ACCEPT THE GIG !!! :D
