Hi all.

I would just like to publicly apologise for my outburst late last night/early this morning.

I was in an extremely pissed off mood and my head wasn't totally around the situation at the time. To come out and publicly criticise the show's content and employers was way out of line and I accept all the criticism that comes my way.

I especially apologise to Andrew Lowther, Tristan Foenander and the rest of the Crocmedia team for making this situation public.

Thank you all, and again, I sincerely apologise.

Hey we all accept your apology and I am sure SEN will as well .
What ,all you did was publicly criticise your fellow employees saying they were not able to do their job.You embarrassed the SEN financial controller by saying you hadnt been paid for 8 months.
And you showed yourself to be someone that loses their cool and runs to a website forum to show your anger at your employers.
I dont think you should have any problem being welcomed back into the fold.
Workplaces have a history of these things sorting themselves out , Wayne Carey and Anthony Stevens , Barry Mitchell and Denis Pagan.etc etc
You':thumbsu:ll be right mate

Obviously, what YouveBeenReimered did in his outburst was highly unprofessional - particularly in an industry where sucking up is almost a prerequisite for employment.

That said, it is just as important to look at the reasons behind the dismissal of James and YouveBeenReimered.

Were James and YouveBeenReimered being paid? If not ... why not? Media organisations seem to hide behind the whole "you're young and doing this fo experience" crap far too often.

If you are on a commercial radio station doing six hours of radio, you deserve to be compensated for your efforts. If a radio station can afford to pay all those ex-AFL players it has on its books, I'm sure they can find something in the bank to pay an overnight crew.

And even if the slot is run by Croc Media - they should still pay their staff for the work they do.

Secondly, if part of the reason why James was sacked was because he was unprofessional, what in the world are they ding hiring a kid who is barely out of school in the first place.

I believe James has talent, but it is talent that has to be nurtured.

In a world where anyone who is in the media is placed under intense scrutiny from internet critics or talkback callers, if you are going to give a young kid the responsibility of six hours on a commercial radio station, he'll need a good mentor or at support team which will show him the ropes and willing to help out when he gets in trouble.

I don't know why James was sacked - but it better be a valid reason. Hopefully some of his colleagues offer him a bit of support, and James becomes a better broadcaster down the track from this experience.

I'm not going to say much more - but I will say SEN had no input into this whatsoever.

lol andrwe gaze having a go at doran for having multiple orgasms over warner :D

i've fair dinkum had a ****ing gutful of mark doran, he's a stuttering, brown-nosing, ill researched knob and he's also full of crap.
i remember listening to hi final show last year and he said he'd be back in 09 with a new format and a new theme song instead of "afternoons and coffeespoons" which he farewelled us all by playing in it's boring entirety "for the last time" he also said. i only realised it today but he's still using that shit awful song. i sent in a text to remind him of this today, didn't read it out of course.
jesus christ mark, do you think no-one remembers what you say?

of course they were being paid, i wouldn't think much but it's illegal to not have them on the books for insurance, tax, superannuation and workcover reasons. imagine if one of them tripped down those stairs at the end of their shift and they were not found to be on the books at sen, all hell would break loose. anyway, get over it guys, people are losing their jobs left, right and centre these days. i've had to put people off and no doubt if it keeps heading south the axe will start swinging my way too. take it like a man YBR and get on with your life.

Tune in next week and I think you'll find a new format and theme song. The news hour is moving from 2pm to 3pm. They announced that on Friday. Could that be because the show is losing an hour for Eddie? I am not sure, as he is rumoured to be hosting a new daily show at 5.30pm on Channel 9.

Whether it came across that way or not, he knows radio much better than his employers. He knows the number 1 priority in radio is making the listeners happy, not himself. And I know plenty of listeners that are fuming over Jim's departure.

I called acouple of weeks back furious over the moronic ''Sack Ernie Merrick Poll''. That was poor form in the extreme.Sad to hear young James and yourself go:thumbsdown:

I am not certain, but I think CrocMedia have the rights on Sen from Monday-to-Friday on the midnight to dawn shift. I think on the weekends, SEN privately run the program after midnight.

It seems as if James has been sacked from CrocMedia and not SEN. So that would explain why he is on now. But I don't know this for sure.

Just to change the subject for a millisecond, but I've always been surprised how bad so many callers are at the sports quizzes. Who listens to a sports radio station, calls up for a quiz, then hasn't got an idea about some fairly easy questions? Quite a few people obviously!

had a look through this site to see exactly what they do, load of rhetorical crap, does hutchy think he is a media and telecommunications superpwower, now we know why lauren phillips is in every social page in melbourne and why andrew lowther gets a gig despite being able to bore people to death.

Of course they didnt have any input , why would SEN have any input or say in who sits behind a microphone at any time of the day or night at SEN.:p
Be like saying that Qantas dont have any input into who sits behind the controls of their aeroplanes.

Not really.

Croc media haved sacked him, not SEN.

Just like Qantas cannot sack pilots who fly from Melb to Adelaide and some of the smaller routes , they can only sack the pilots who fly their planes from Melb to Sydney and Brisbane.
Please if you think that SEN has no say whatsoever in who or what goes on 24 hrs of the day on their radio station you are even less clued up than James W.

While i am rolling along , I listen to SEN all the time but I dont think I have ever listened at before 7 on a Sunday morning.
I had to take my son to the airport and I heard some bloke that wont be on SEN much longer whoever makes the decisions ( SEN or Croc media )
This bloke was hosting a show about lawn bowls and I swear he was drunk.
He had either been up all night drinking or had a big one the night before , he was slurring every sentence he spoke.
I am amazed he wasnt removed on the spot but obviously it was so early in the morning the powers at SEN must have been sleeping still.
I have never heard someone that skittled before it was actually funny hearing someone pissed trying to put sentences together.
i was trying to work out how some of those he spoke to on the phone didnt break up with laughter , they to must have realised this bloke was stumbling and slurring every sentence and word.

must've hit the sherry or port hard the night before, fwiw, i used to listen to phil and bruce on 3aw on my way home from teaching nightschool sometimes and i used to think that phil was either pissed or had suffered a stroke at some stage, so bad was his slurring and the slowness of his speech. i hope it wasn't the case with the bowls guy.

I listed to Richo and Harf for a bit this morning talking about the 1st round losers getting $20,000 for the Australian Open and Harf was bagging them saying they don't deserve anything etc...

Then they got a call from Kevin Andersen of South Africa who was listening, he qualified for the main draw this year and Harf couldn't backflip quick enough. It was good to listen to and then towards the end of their chat Richo and Harf were calling him 'their man'.

I heard that too and thought it was quite amusing. Although I do agree, $20k for losing in the first round is absolutely ridiculous.
