I don't understand why people think the AFL is against freedom of speech. They cop it from every media outlet almost every day of the week - a lot of it is deserved too.
Don't know what Robbo is trying to achieve here. He is good mates with Thomas (no disclaimer in his article I notice) so anything he says is going to be tainted.
Interesting article from Fpatprick today in the Oz. Says he works 3 hours a week at SEN and has never once been approached by SEN to temper his comments on anything. And if he was told, he would resign.
Andy Maher admitted before 7am this morning that SEN management give firm instructions to all on-air staff to (1) not make personal attacks, and (2) not go on and on about AFL/umpiring decisions, because it may damage the AFL brand.
