Today on MG they were talking about the Asian Champions League, and Turfy pops up with:

"That's the problem with watching the Chinese soccer team, half an hour after watching the game you want to watch it again"

There was dead silence from Maher and Watson. I was p1ssing myself.

i didnt hear the show this morning, i dont get the joke.

SEN gripe.

SEN is not a news station, it is a sports station. So why does SEN feel the need to do news every half hour in the morning, like 3AW and ABC?

This morning, they went to the news at 7:30am and didn't come back until 7:39am

If we missed the 7am news, and can't wait for the 8am news, and are so desperate that we need the news at 7:30am, we can quite easily turn to another station for a few minutes, then head back to SEN.

I suggest that SEN go to a commercial break at 7:30am for a couple minutes, then get right back into it.

the answer to your gripe is simple. get rid of maher, watson and doran.

srsly when maher brought up the accomplishment of usain bolt the other day and how fast he was, watson chimed in with "i dunno, i saw alwyn davey the other day...."

facepalm.

Tim Watson turns everything back onto AFL and sometimes Essendon.

Isn't Andrew Lovett the quickest player at Essendon anyway?

Was watching Ch7 news on Sunday and at the end of his sports report, he goes to Jennifer Keyte "Bombers have just kicked a goal to cut the deficit to 19point. Think they can overrun the Saints?... Cross your fingers"

You obviously haven't seen Alwyn Davey lately  ............................................................................ :p

Have you ever stopped to think the majority of us want to hear the morning news.

Interesting debate, this one. You'll find that most American sports radio stations do NOT break for news at the top of the hour. In fact, discussions are often carried across the hour. I suppose the theory is that it's a sports station and if you want news about the economy or the Burmese opposition or a three car pileup, you turn to the news station. There are usually sports updates every 20 minutes or so. I think part of SEN's deal is that they take the Southern Cross news service, so they HAVE to break at the top of the hour.

I think they have to take the news service, or that is what they signed up for. Personally, I would prefer the news every hour. Every half hour is too much. And when you throw in Sports Central updates every half an hour, you are hearing the same sports news more often than not every 15 minutes.

Just listening to radios version of ''Lie To Me'' with Elliott on SEN.:rolleyes:How much more utter drivel can one man speak.
Possibly one of the worst hours of radio ever.

Every 30 minutes? On a sports station? What is so critical that you need to hear it at 6:30am, 7:30am or 8:30am? SEN gives Sports SENtral updates, do you need to hear about that car crash overnight, or the latest CBD stabbing, every 30 minutes?

But SEN are taking the news every 30 minutes in the morning. It's ridiculous. That's about 16-18 minutes every hour just in news and weather. Then with commercials, we're probably getting only 30 minutes in the hour.

If you look at one of Montybrasco's thorough reviews it shows the exact amount of time the hosts of the Morning Glory have to actually talk. From memory it is less than 50% of the program.

Look foward to hearing the coverage of the Hall of Fame tonight from 7 PM ...

Too bad Matthew 'nitwit' Thompson will be there with Finey god after Doran he is the most irritating employee of that station.

BTW Why do so many callers to Mark Fine's program, often mis-prounce his name as 'Viney' intead of 'finey' like the dumb old farts who up Hinch's program and call him 'Darren' instead of 'Derryn' ?

Probably just taking the piss!

What I'd like to know is how does a chronic stutterer get and maintain a media job for all of these years

LOL @ Dougie Hawkins ringing up the Gladiators of Sport, right after midnight, after coming back from Echuca ..

He was totally off his nut (IE Intoxicated) and kept rambling on about Tony Shaw and the Hall of Fame..
