Good to hear Tiffany Cherry back on the boundary... much better than Harf and Matt Thompson.

I only caught the last quarter but she sounded a lil unenthusiastic to me...

----
Just a question for fellow SEN listeners - Anyone find Howard from the gladiators of sport really frustrating to listen too? He brings up irrelevant stuff all the time, asking where everyone is from, interrupts people, always brings things back to St. Kilda, then says Stephen mentions st kilda all the time, tips draws all the time etc. Or is just me?

I could be wrong here, but I thought I heard KB + Tiff talking (during his cross to her in USA) a while ago, about when she came home for a break, she could do a bit of work for them...but don't quote me!:)

Think I saw a not ein the HS recently that she'd quit ESPN to come back home.

Don't listen to them much but when I do I can't stand Peaky or Howard.

I used to really enjoy listening to Mark Franklin on One Wee at a Time, anyone jnow if it'll be back on?

I like Peaky, his weather reports are great.

As far as I know One Week at a Time is on Sunday mornings after gladiators of sport. Starts at 1am. As least it was this week.

Turfology IV 2009

In the old days when everybody thought the word Nunawading was Aboriginal for low ratings
- On an old Channel Ten saying

Unless some bondage mistress wraps him up in cellophane and spanks him with a frozen mackerel, he’s not budging
- On Max Moseley refusing to budge on Grand Prix negotiations

You look at the footage of it; the bloke’s standing the mark with his hands in the air and Zac Dawson’s come in from a position which is now known as the grassy knoll and taken him out. Why would you appeal that? He had no hope
- On the Zac Dawson appeal

These jackals. Imagine taking a photograph of a bloke through the ambulance window. Fair dinkum, you are low life. Employees of yours, Craig?
- [To Hutchy] On people taking pictures of a dying Michael Jackson.

He’s just juggling his business at the moment…working for SBS on their coverage and mixing that, of course, working for TV Nimbin on their coverage of the cricket
- On Greg Mathews work on the SBS cricket coverage

It’s reasonable in the pub but I’m not too sure it’s an Olympic sport
- On women’s boxing being included in the Olympics

I’d rather they became greyhound trainers
- On being questioned about his daughters possibly participating in boxing

I think the only way women’s boxing can work, Craig, is if it’s celebrity boxing…it would be difficult watching two finely tuned women box-on, but if it was, say, Tracey Grimshaw versus Kerri-Anne Kennerley, I’d pay good money to see that… There needs to be a hook to make it entertaining
- On women’s boxing, yet again

There was a couple of issues there with some of the hockey games when I was trying to bet on the under 9 hockey, but we got through that
- On Turfy possibly being an ugly parent with his daughters’ sports

What Joe Hasham had achieved in poker was extraordinary and outstanding. So much so that I thought he should have carried the flag at the last Olympics
- On Joe Hasham’s performance at the WSP

I don’t know what he’s complaining about, my three kids think Melbourne’s name is actually Defeated Melbourne
- On an Essendon fan’s child seeing the Dons lose at his first ever live game

Even Stevie Wonder stood up and yelled out Ball.
-On the Joel Corey holding the ball decision not given against the Dockers

Ranting Turf
I’ve been listening to your talkback all morning, Kevin It‘s very emotive… And I sat there in the crowd on Sunday. I must say actually15,000 people there, Kevin. Very, very disappointing; it was a beautiful winter’s day. Sitting there at the G, beautiful game of footy, beautiful afternoon. I’m thinking why is there only 15,000 people. Before I leave, I’m watching the Hawthorn v North Melbourne game down there in Tasmania in the most appalling conditions. Conditions such that Sir Douglas Mawson would have stayed home and watched the game on telly, Kevin. Lieutenant Bird wouldn’t have turned up. It was that miserable out there. Why do they get the same crowd down there. What is it with the Melbourne supporters? They can’t get off their tijuana’s and go and watch their team play. Coming off a win, I thought it was very, very disappointing myself. Glad to see that game’s been shifted to Darwin, hopefully next year. Bad luck, those Melbourne supporters who don’t bother to go. That’s what happens.

More Ranting Turf
Yet again the forgotten group is the punters. When is the integrity afforded to punters? At a meeting where punters have already placed their bets on believing the race meeting was going to be held at Randwick, and it gets shifted. Again, yet again, the punters who actually prop the whole industry up are left out of the equation. I harp back to a meeting at Kilmore two years ago, Kevin, where…there was three races…it was a very wet track, they had trouble with the starting stalls. And they made a decision between the stewards, the owners, and the trainers, to shift those 3 races to 1200 metres. People had already had quadrellas, daily doubles, et cetera.
Yet again, the consideration of the punters was nonexistent. Absolutely disgraceful! People can put bets on believes a race was going to held over a certain distance, at a certain race track and because of weather conditions, ‘aw we can’t abandon the turnover here,’ stuff the punters, we’re going to look after our own interests. It’s not god enough and it’s about time someone stood up for the punters because the racing authorities, and in this case they were NSW racing authorities, don’t deserve to have that power. … Either abandon the meeting, and it’s not the end of the world…come back and race another day, or say, all bets are refunded, those who wish to reinvest - reinvest.

You are a pea in the whistle of life
- On Hutchy

Couldn't let this pass.

Lame Pickering arguing with Hutchy about Carlton’s Final Eight chances after the 69 point loss to Essendon:

No, they won’t now. That’s the end of them. They won’t make the Eight. Nah, they won’t win enough games, Hutch. They needed to win that one last night. I’m sorry. Hutchy(!), they have got some games they won’t win coming up. I’ve done the numbers, they needed to win that game.
