Re: The SEN Thread 8

Ahh FFS! He almost ruins my favourite show being AFL 360. What are you doing SEN?

Yeah, I can't take to him at all.....and another thing, I hope that SEN don't get sucked in to putting stupid Rex Hunt on their footy shows or calling games!...would be the end for me, he makes my skin crawl!!

Rex is the sole reason I hated 3AW and never listened to their footy broadcasts..

Re: The SEN Thread 8

King didn't endear himself to 3AW management when he proudly announced that Dustin Fletcher was going to announce his retirement at a press conference the following day.

When he had to fully retract that statement within 30 minutes, live on-air, his standing at the station was badly damaged and probably saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship before he was pushed.

You need to go back and have another read. I could quote a lot more posts, but the system won't allow it.[ Originally Posted by imadodgyumpire

Continued further thought, the only option I could think of was Ed Wyatt...I would be cool with him, any of you think he could work?

Yes, Ed has my vote.

WooHoo..cheers Steve!!:thumbsu:.......god, you are missed!..

..but at least we still get to hear Ed when he is on with Harf..

Hope all is well for you up the top half of the world:)

Re: The SEN Thread 8

SEN has always taken a risk by having first time presenters or expert opinion people on like Lloyd, Brownless, Malthouse and even getting Eddie back on the airwaves and i'm sure there are many more , but now we have a goose in King and washed up hacks like Walls and Hunt. Why not try for say a Tadgh Kennelly who is always amusing and interesting , say a Baker or a couple of other retired players who might be better than those hacks.
This is not the SEN way.

I mean they should go with Ed if they cannot get Steve Salisbury...

Yes, all good up here. Do miss doing Busa though. Good times.

Re: The SEN Thread 8

Some solid gold from Stephen J Peake on Saturday night.

1. Criticized animal rights campaigners for their hypocrisy in only commenting on horse racing deaths and not human auto-racing deaths. (lol, why would someone like Dr. Hugh Worth be sought for a comment on a MotoGP or Nascar tragedy? Bizarre.)

2. Claimed that 40% of the farming industry would go out of business if there was no horse racing. Surely not.

3. Cited the lack of concern from animal rights activists for jockey safety. When it was pointed out that this was unnecessary because the jockeys chose their sport/profession, whereas the horses do not, SJP went on to argue that horses 'choose to race' because he's seen horses who refuse to run. The latter however doesn't prove the former. Choosing not to run isn't the same as choosing to run.

This was just in the 20 minutes i tuned in. Unbelievably stupid, even for radio.

New ratings:

Melbourne on page 2.
http://au.nielsen.com/site/documents/Metro711.pdf

SEN dropped a little (0.4 points overall), with Leach and Ox the biggest 'droppers', losing a not-insignificant 2 whole points, from 7.2 to 5.2. I'm tippin' they'd be disappointed (der :p). Finey also had a bit of a drop of 1.2pts (5.3 to 4.1), but the breakfast spot went up a tiny bit (5.2 to 5.4), as did KB (4.9 to 5). 'They' say that SEN usually drops after the footy season, but the footy was still on for about the first 3 weeks of the survey.

Re: The SEN Thread 8

Can also listen to MMM's game feed, then stick on finey afterwards
Not to mention BBC Radio 1 :thumbsu:

Has anyone noticed that SEN has been removed from Tunein?? Looks like the SEN app has taken over the streaming.

Does anyone know the URL of the stream to add a custom one?

I noticed that too, and was disappointed as I like to record segments like Finey with the TV freak and listen to them on the way to work.

the run home has run its race imo, the non-sport segments piss me off, particulaly cunninghams money spot and gurog's tech segment.
