overnights will never ever ever be as good as it once was.

to be honest i reckon its pretty crap.

i could not give 2 hoots about the pancake palour every 5 mins and how you all filled ur faces there!

how times change. 3-4 years ago mark franka franklin did 40 odd days straight doing overnights. he was bloody good. let you have your say and was not so biased like they all are now.

I think it would be because the current overnight crew would be on a bit less than the previous crew were.

Sen was losing money paying a host to broadcast overnight , for a while there they were rebroadcasting interviews from earlier that day or week.

Hutchys company did a deal and bought the overnights off Sen and rebranded it with sponsorship from the Pancake Parlor.

I think Franka went back to expanding his daytime job/business after he got married.

I think that BP has his own company so that would rule him out of overnights working for Hutchys company.

Shebecci would no doubt enjoy the day time reporting much more than overnights work , however I am sure thathe miss the calls that he would get from Dave in St Kilda (who was an SJ Peake protatonist of the highest order) who hasn't rang in for ages , probably went to New York to work in his brothers million dollar art gallery that he would tell us all every time that he rang in.

The current crew are doing fine , but eventually they will move on to bigger and better things in their sports media careers.

i was once on hold at 3am for 25 minutes while darren talked about his netball team.... pissed me off. get ur priorities right. its a talkback radio station not a boast about how good my f grade netball team is...


i remember back in the day when u rang up u would be on the air straight away if there was no 1 else on hold

matthew spider lee made that show so good, when he left the show just died in the arse!

Yeah, was a few nights ago he was reading an article and Darren Parkin had to help him out. Felt like a primary school student reading aloud with his teacher in the class.

Yeah nah, on The Run Home: Beer O'clock and the movie segment is one thing (well, two things ), and I gather some people would get into the computer/phone tech stuff, but I reckon they're pushing it with the fishing and builder stuff. Someone needs a kick up the bum with those additions.

Strange decision , I was of the impression that Jack was the guy who answered the phone when people rang up ANA and then later in the morning would go into the studio to join in the banter with the hosts.

Is there a game of "Survivor" going on in the ANA crew ? As in "the tribe has spoken Jack !"

I suspect that Tom Scully has had something to do with it seeing as Jack was so upset with him leaving his team Melbourne.

Dash and Teo are far superior, even Scott (who I've taken a while to warm to) is better than Jack. The guests they've had co-host, Matt Windley, Jono Wilkinson, Sam Landsberger etc, are again all far more eloquent than Mr Jack.

Good decision imo.

Its from 12pm to 6am its never going to rate its ass off nor be a popular show. So when people want to have there say bloody let them.
There is half the talkback there used to be
Wanna know why?
Because people used to ring up knowing they could say what they wanted. It is a talkback radio station. No days people get 30 seconds to talk about what they want - and of course if they disagree ya wont get a word in.
There are just as many listeners if not more as 3 years ago . But why have the whole part of the show ( the callers) gone downhil??

Get more callers on the air coz these days there hadly any!

I have to agree with you about the fishing and building stuff. Maybe I'm just a cynic but, I reckon they have them on as a way to get mates rates on getting a deck done out back or a fishing charter for a mates' weekend.
