To be honest, instead of World Sports overnight, I preferred it when they took the live feed from the UK sports drive time show (forgot what it was called now, talk sport live or something)

Man it only lasted a month or two on SEN, but it was right when SEN started, but I really like listening to the Poms on the wireless, esp talking about football

The majority didn't like it, even callers on air at the time canned it and wanted live radio back - much like the recent situation of playing replays overnight. I found it pretty boring myself - that said I'm not a huge EPL fan. In addition to that, a live English radio show lacks a local flavour, just subtle bits of humour they have are different to ours. Imagine if the Poms got a live SEN feed and heard a traffic report - "Cars banking up on the Tulla", they wouldn't really feel connected with the show.

That said, despite the fact I had little interest in what they were saying, TalkSport seemed like a really good sports channel and sounded much more professional than SEN. Hopefully SEN can one day become an Aussie equivalent of that station.

At least the WSO overnight guys can talk about a variety of sports, which I enjoy when they talk a bit of NBL or American sports, can you imagine the UK show doing that? Ahhh...no

SEN has the same problem, the only two sports they cover well are AFL and cricket. Sure, a bit of the Victory is thrown in but I don't think most presenters understand the game that well.

bp does a great job and all night sport is really good now. the only thing i dont like to much is the sport updates all the time and the super duper nuker updates its like they think we dont know some things but most of listen to sen all day and we know the victory lost but the updates are made out to be like the biggest thing in the world.
i listen to them but sometimes i dont listen to the updates even when they think they are so important.

Same thing happens throughout the day, so are you suggesting that everyone from SEN take a hike and we'll just have the UK crap streamed into Melbourne without the need for Internet connections? As a fellow doggie man I would have expected better......And I found talksport to be more boring than listening to Senate Question Time.

What the buggerry is being a bulldog fan got to do with this! Basically they were just servicing us with a different sport besides local content overnight.

Some of us do venture out and enjoy other sports besides our local game.
Love the dogs and the afl but sometimes it gets a little tedious overnight.

Today's Age reports Bruce Eva is taking SEN on in an unfair dismissal case. SEN tried to block his claim on legal grounds, but Eva won and his case will be heard in early December.

I hope you take them for all their worth Beva. How SEN management could take sides with a hack announcer like Francis Leach and sack their best presenter is a joke.

Any word on Beva's case?

Harf and Ox were hosting the run home, not great chemistry between the two, bit too much of the same.

But it is interesting that Harf is being pushed out there, and looks to be the next full time host soon. Of what I've heard I like him as a sidekick than the main man.

Huddo and Harf would do a great show if that ever happened. Wish Pickers and Mark Allen would get a weekday slot.
