One thing that shits me is the Ben Cousins issue keeps coming up. FFS, I've had enough of that, why must it keep being discussed?

As a side note, did anyone hear the overnight show last night - this bloke called Anthony phoned up and he speaks at 1000 words a second...hilarious.

lol he always rips a racecall out of nowhere and it goes for like 5 mins, rates himself a lot :thumbsd:

the run home is going downhill fast, i rate the primemovers and also robbo & rocket is quality but the rest of the week is seriously rubbish, francis has been really dissapointing for mine and well the OX is just dumb so much cant change their

I still maintain that The Run Home is the best show on SEN and has improved with Francis. He along with Beva would easily be the 2 most knowledgible broadcasters at the station... with Doran being the worst, and by a long way. If I hear him say "OK... OK..." after someone tells him something once more I'll scream. I do like the content of his show, so I listen, but he makes me cringe.

Can we get Brett Phillips back for WSO so he can say all of those tennis players surnames that Tony cant seem to be able to say properly.
BP can talk and read anything without a hiccup whilst Tony stumbles and stutters and is all over the place
Already miss BP and you can hear the difference between him and Tony at least Rob Harding is getting a bigger go and he also knows much more than Tony.
And Funny how Tony suddenly has a highlights of what we did which Brett Phillips has been doing every time he has filled in.

Dunno how you blokes get to listen to WSO, I'm always asleep. I have the alarm go off at 6 and I always hear a tired Tony say "that's another episode of WSO wrapped up and locked in the can".

Wacky Wednesday so that explains it.

Tony's a good bloke but I think his heart is just not in it anymore - he's had a taste of the "big time" during the day and he wants more. That comment about him being "tired-sounding" at 6am confirms he just wants the shift to be over.

I like Tony when he talks about non-sporting issues but when it comes to sports, Rob Harding knows way more and is more articulate. It's funny when callers ring up and say "Tony, you'd know about this being a motor racing expert..." when his motor racing knowledge is just as patchy as on all other sports.

Tony would be good as a sports newsreader on Sports Tonight where you don't need knowledge.

On that Anthony bloke, Tony would have had a fair laugh off air (which he hinted at) at his antics: "likeisaid Tonybutumyeahboyswhatareyourthoughtson ahhh yeahlikeIsaidgoodwintothePieson da weekendanderboyswhatareyorthoughtsonthe3rdraceatSandown yeahOKboyscatchyouslater".

Its Good having Francis back, he should have stayed and go to whatever station he went to.

The more I listen to Bruce Eva the more he impresses me, along with Mark Fine.

Think Beva would be a hard man to beat in a sports trivia quiz. Not many sports that he's not across. Nothing worse than listening to an interview from someone who's not familiar with the sport in question... like Doran this arvo talking to a Rugby Union player and asking what's the deal with the numbers on the players' backs.

The Good:
The Beva is an icon in all matters sport, & a genuinely good fella to boot, had the pleasure of sharing a few jars with him in a previous life. He is a natural at his craft, he interacts with his guests & co-hosts like two lads sharing a coldie at their local.

The Bad:
Doran is a liability - an embarassment, elecution marginally above Capper, it must be flippin frustrating for talent waiting for a break to listen to this guy waffle on, I've switched to Gold FM from noon - 7.00.

The Ugly:
Morning Glory seems stale. Lowlight this morning the interview with A Molik, Billy signing off the interview with "...you know we're rooting for you Alicia...", you could hear the collective groan of the listening audience & from Alicia herself as we wiated for the enevitiable sadly predictable double entendre that too often prevails.:thumbsd:

D-Harf has got to get a gig, and Pickering would be great but he's running Elite sport. Lets say SEN could get him in for mornings:

Pickering, Harford, Maher for Breakfast.
KB 9-12.
Brett Phillips 12-4.
Run home 4-7.
Beva 7-12.

Mark/Luke/Rob Harding to share WSO.
Thompson/Schibecci/Stone etc.... to do SENtral.

Even if the ratings stay the same, they'd save a lot of money from Brownless, Watson, Doran. Let them concentrate on the coverage.

Not bad. I'd have Maher out of Morning Glory first though. I know Billy isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I do like the chemistry of Tim and Billy. You can tell they are genuine mates.

Its interesting, i think MG is the show that splits listeners down the middle. I think they've improved so so much from last year, so its not a must change, but just as a preference ive liked Harford and Pickering's work on the weekend morning shows.

I definitely agree with Harford and Pickers gettting more air time if possible. Love both of their work.

Why wasnt Brett Phillips on with Tony and Stoney on Sunday night?
I thought BP was going to be at least on each Sunday for an hour as well as Saturday the whole WSO.
He has gone from being on nearly every night to next to nothing and he didnt even get to take over from Tony on Sports Central when Tony came back .
BP is getting a bad deal if you ask me and should be on more.

Totally agree ice. Btw, for people who listen to the TalkSport UK report from 3am - 3:30. I am in absolute pain listening to the host, who clearly knows nothing about soccer. A few certainly is, it certainly is, or no doubt about that, or hows the weather over there. Its not a coherant interview/report.

With Brett and Mark/Luke at least they are interested and ask questions, comment on transfer news etc....

Anyway, this has been my hobbyhorse for a few years, and doesnt look like its gonna change. I doubt enough listeners listen in at that time for them to care.

Are you a shiftworker mulholland? I don't think I've ever heard WSO past about 3.00, except for once - coming home from a night out and trying to listen to the show gives you a headache when you're pissed, I found out.

Can't wait for Friday morning's show - Peaky should stick it right up Tony's suggestion that the Tigers would thrash the Saints. I'll admit Peaky sounds like an idiot when talking about the Saints - he's just too biased - but Tony's anti-St Kilda bias draws Peaky into that somewhat. Peaky is at least kind towards Richmond (who are doing much worse than us this year).

Yeah i am, dont get to listen to KB or Doran much. Wish more people listened to the midnight shift, so that it actually matters.

rob harding rips schibecci a new one everytime they are on, the difference in quality between the 2 of them is massive

harding is on top of most things going on atm compared to schibecci who's knowledge is pathetic for a host on such a show

his show is only worth listening to in the first hour when harding/stone/feddish guys are on who actually know what they are talking about but after that the show is rubbish

You aint missin much with Doran. I like the format of the show. I think he aims high in what he brings to the program, but he just waffles and dribbles and doesn't actually know that much about sport.

Hey Mullholland , what about making WSO like the rookie list at AFL clubs or the NHL draft where at the end of the year the best get picked.
Have BP do one week , Franko a week , Luke a week , Rob Harding a week and just keep rotating the strike one week for each or even others i didnt mention just to keep it different and to give everyone a chance.

Hehe, that would be interesting. But it seems that SEN is like the Australian cricket team, once youre in, its hard to get out.

I think Rob Harding is awesome. He's not a great 'host', but as an expert comment guy his knowledge and opinions are up there with the real footy blokes on the station.

I'm sure there's a reason why they call him the wonderboy, he seems to be doing mostly producing at this stage, and i would say he'd be a great as part of a 2 man show, with the other guy a host (Andy Maher, Leech, Beva type).

But then again the weekday line up hasnt changed since the start except for 2 forced changes (Beva replacing Leech, Leech replacing Huddo).
