Believe me its the complete truth. Okay, I'll spill it. I'm not that bitter bloke who posts here but I used to work there too and keep in touch with a few mates who are still there. Plenty are upset at how this was done but basically it came down to Frank having more influence than Beva and Frank is a political animal, beva is not.

I was told by a friend of a friend of Harfords that Eva had been sacked but he didnt know why .I cannot understand how Francis would have the final say no matter what .The decision to sack Eva would still have had to have been made by the mgt.
Still if what you say is true then I am not sure how the rest of the sen staff would feel about Francis from here onwards .

The perfect replacement for Finey if he does the Bruce Eva show is to have the ones that have already filled in on the final siren.
BP and rob harding.
They filled in and the show was as good as ever ,they knew about the players ,,the tactics the background ,everything that they were asked they answered give one of them the final siren show and it will be just as good i promise

Enough of the rumour and inneundo. This is the truth, I've cut and paste it from Saintsational. Don't ask me how but I know this is the case.


There was an incident last week when the afternoon show had organised an interview with someone important. Name escapes me at the moment and he couldnt get on till 3 minutes to 7. Beva said he should interview the person as he could do a 10 minute interview but Frances said no the afternoon show wanted to interview him. Beva sent a memo around saying thet dont work as a team. the management cracked it and sent him on his way.

I know that seems strange as everyone thought Francis and beva were mates but there has been a problem for a while now since they reemplyed Francis for the arvo shift and Beva thought he should get it.



This now opens up a spot for Frank to call games instead of being the boundary bitch. He killed two birds with one stone.

I doubt one event would lead to a sacking. There would have been something going on between Beva and the management at the station, and perhaps, there was a back breaker. Maybe, he was unhappy. He did a great job and you wouldn't sack him unless there was more to it.

You don't want Mark Allan doing the Final Siren show. His knowledge on sports other than golf is limited and SEN have tried to incorporate him into discussing other sports, which just doesn't work. I heard that show with Pickers and it was very entertaining, but that was due to Pickers' knowledge and the banter the two shared. If you entered him into any serious footy discussion he'd struggle big time, especially on his own.

It's never one incident and like you said, something stupid like that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I think there may have been some underlying animosity between Beva and Francis. Which is a shame because those two are right up there with SEN's best - both have great sporting knowledge and are polished presenters.

Hey just wondering previously when SEN was on in Adelaide and maybe a bit after that they always used to Advertise Musashi. Now no Musashi advertising at all. I was always under the impression that they had some kind of professional relationship with them that they gave SEN money to keep afloat sometimes.
But now no Mushashi ads or even prizes. What happened?

If anyone knows that would be great.

He's usually on every Friday after 3 too. Does a great Dennis Commetti too. When he does Ayres, he does stuff like "the great players back at Hawthorn, like ya Tucks, ya Dunstalls, ya Plattens, ya Langfords, ya Breretons, Ya Dippers...." etc. But he goes on for like two minutes without taking a breath. Very very funny.

Perhaps he was getting to big for his boots around the place.....afterall, to have the confidence to send a memo to work mates telling them they weren't doing the right thing is a bit much....thats the job of managment I would have thought...

exactly macmum, in situations like this, you always get to hear the side of the aggrieved, im sure sen management would like to expand on the reasons why but are probably trying to protect individuals including Beva i suspect

I think you will find Marko has slipped down the "next in" line.....only a year ago he was the next person in when it came to the morning glory and i think he looked after a few other shows as well.
But now Shibecci , Richardson ,Pickers, Cohen Harford and a few others all have moved ahead when it comes to who the station wants to be as a fill in person etc.remember even Finey was just a producer and he has now jumped over the top of Marko and alot of others got his chance and has took it well and now looks like he will get Bevas spot permanent .
Nothing against Mark Allan but that seems to be the case when the regulars go on hols

In all fairness, Marko does have another full time job as a golf coach. I don't mind him when he's on, but I don't think he's pushing for a full time radio gig, just casual.

Schibecci is hilarious how he covers up his lack of knowledge of a certain event or sport

Schibicci: Uhh no I can't say I have, we haven't got that news yet, but I'll certainly be sure to look at it and keep you posted, what do you want to talk about it

And then the caller gives his opinion, Schibecci just agrees with plenty "mmm hmms".

l don't mind Frank on air and have spoken to him on air and he was ok but when l spoke to him before l went on air he was very abrupt and arrogant. l still listen to him sometimes, it didn't worry me too much but he does have another side to him.

Unstable....You don't speak to Frank before you go to air. You speak to his producer, Craig Moore.

Don't bag Schubecki for his lack of knowledge. He can't be on top of everything. Plus he has kids and working that shift is tough. Not to mention he always is the voice of the MCG.

Sheesh, that's a bit pedantic, Jabso. I had a lecturer at uni who once told that it was far less important to know something than it was to know where to go to find it out. One of the best bits of advice I've ever got.

And that's all that Schibecci seems to be doing in that scenario. Is his response less preferable to a presenter pretending to know what he's talking about?

Umm, I don't know abotu Musashi propping the station up or anyting like that, but I just assumed they were a sponsor/advertiser early on and they've dropped off.

With the volume and range of ads they've got going now, the station is obviously doing quite well.

I missed last nights 7.00 - 10.00 timeslot, am I correct in saying that Finey & the regular Thursday night format was missing?

What I did hear when i tuned in after 10.00 was nothing but first class crap. If ever RMIT conduct a radio hosting course, this hour will be the template about how bad crap radio can be. Tony S was host, some guy called Kenny was his alledged producer, they managed to get the answer to a golf question in the quiz (question 1 for memory, great start) wrong, & it went down hill from there.

They had complete tossers calling in, they had a question about touring car racing, they gave a hint that the answer had a first name of Ian, Schebbci suddenly cut to an add, come back & apologised that the hint was wrong, his name was Leigh! & on it went, he took his umbrage out on Kenny on air, totally unprofessional. Any self respecting suburban community station would be humiliated if they put in an hour like that, it was pathetic.

Tony, it appears you follow this thread, you've been magnaminous enough to acknowledge feedback in the past, please lift your game, I know you're passionate about SEN, but this is beyond a joke.

Threaders, try & contact Barry Quick about your concerns via SEN website if you feel strongly enough, SEN have made encouraging progress in recent times, it's in severe danger of being undone as a result of the crap that's going down at the moment.
