That's not too bad. Only a few small losses and who would have thought Finey beat Beva's ratings.

Good on Ox and Francis too, which I think is SEN's best show.

A bit concerning that they lost 1.5 in the 25yo->39yo bracket which is traditionally SEN's strongest age group.

That 1.5 seems to have all gone to 3AW.

KB's show is the lowest rated show. Would that be related to his stance with the AFL and all the crap?

I don't care about his stance with the AFL, but people probably do.

I'd assume though that 9-12 is a lower rating spot than the two drive shifts. Surprised Doran rates higher than KB still. Maybe Ernie isn't as much competition as Neil Mitchell.

Big call....but Greg (don't know his last name from the australian) is even worse than Patrick Smith.:thumbsd: He has no idea about footy or what is happening at clubs...does he even bother to read his own paper?

Denham.

Aint that the truth. Talks absolute crap every time he's on. Makes Patrick Smith look good.

He is embarassingly bad.

What did he say? I have boycotted KB's morning program and only tune in after noon to Mark Bore-an

You listen to Doran, but not KB?

Love or hate KB, he knows a mountain about sport and covers it well. Now Beva is gone, he is the most knowledgable guy at the station.

I doubt Doran even reads the back pages, he just has no clue about sport. I'd like to see him as a contestant in his own quiz, cause he never seems to know the answers. Luckily he doesn't write them.

Doran isn't the best listen but from 12-4 is when I get bored so I need my sport fix sometime. 4pm onwards is what I hold out for at work.

I have to say Finey knowledgable of Sports is good, who knows one day he may even better Beva, now that would be something you would blow you own trumpet

Well he did trump Beva's ratings, so you never know.

Grant Hackett is talking to Doran right now. Anyone who refers to the Olympics as "The Olympic Movement" is so smug in my book.

Ive been a long time listenr to SEN so I thought I might chuck in my two cents about the shows I get a chance to listen to.

Morning Glory - I enjoy the show but sometimes it can get a bit old and tired with Tim being a tosser, Andy a nerd and Billy the boozer. It would be great if they devoted a little more time to wrapping up the overnight sport as the half hourly news breaks (i think from the southern cross network) tends to leave a lot of blanks.

Hungry for KB........I mean sport. Patrick Smith is good but KB bores me to tears. Tends to cut people off he doesnt like there opinion. Must say he has a good knowledge of sport.

The Good Oil - Please replace with 4 hours of static. Doran is a w***er who seems to know little about sport. He hates to be told he's wrong. w***er!

The Run Home - Francis and the Ox are great. A good knowledge of whats going on, especially Francis who knows about sport, not just footy.

Where's Beva - The Finney Years - Beva was great and Finney is still good. The two of them together became "I Love/Hate the Saints (depending on results)". Lots of segments but it kills me when they have the Rugby hour on Monday nights (see below).

Some quick hits -

Born in the USA - Great to have a USA sport show. Bring on the 3 hour shows!

A League - Too much yelling. A League seems to be over the top pro Victory. Find a balance between coverage and being fans of the club.

NBL - ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Anything involving Schibecchi - w***er! w***er!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Minor sport coverage - Now they have the AFL SEN dont seem to cover the "minor" sports as much, except during summer when everyone is usually listening to "Grandstand" on the ABC.

Where's my league

I grew up in Sydney and have lived in Melbourne for 10 years. I still follow my league club in Sydney (Parramatta) but also follow Collingwood (paid member of both clubs) so I've learnt to live and love both codes. Unfortunately when it comes to league SEN becomes the Storm Everywhere Network.

I dont expect a huge coverage of league but they devote a 30 minute segment to Rugby League and all they talk about is the Storm. It was funny I sent Mark Doran an email one afternoon asking why he didnt even bother talking about the other 15 clubs and compared it to just talking about Hawthorn on every program. He read it out on air, called me an idiot and proudly announced "The Storm is the only club for me and as for the rest of the comp I dont really care".

Like I said above I dont expect wall to wall league but would love one 10 minute segment about the NRL competition and not purely focused on the Storm or random league scandels. And Im sure somebody will say "If you dont like it go back to Sydney" but think about this. How would you feel if you lived in Sydney and the only AFL coverage was the Swans wall to wall on an all sports network.

Anyway thats my gripes. Feel free to comment as this message board is great.

How can you call people w***ers and tossers when you don't know them?

Why not just rate their shows and not what you think their personalities are like based on what they say on their shows.

Are u new to internet forums???? :D:D:D

Fair enough.

But I'd reckon its fair game to say that anyone is a shit host, bore you to tears, has crap opinions etc etc, but to say that someone is a w***er or a tosser based on their radio show is just stupid.

They were talking about priority picks (again) and Denham made the point (again) that West Coast wouldn't have won the flag without a priority pick. He then went on to mention that Dale Thomas, Nick Riewoldt, Brett Deledio and Marc Murphy were all priority picks and look at how they have improved their clubs - well maybe not Murphy !

This is the sort of sensationalist crap that Denham and Smith like to peddle.

All those players were priority picks - that is correct.
However, they were not the result of the priority picks - Ashley Sampi, Pendlebury, Kosi, Richard Tambling and Josh Kennedy were all picks that clubs got as a result of the priority pick.

I tried to explain that without the priority pick, West Coast still would have had pick 3 and I assume still would have picked Judd, that Richmond still would have picked Deledio as they still would have had pick 1, etc etc.

Anyway, they let me speak for a couple of minutes with Denham going around in circles and they eventually cut me off.

I don't know if he was trying to deliberatly be controversial or he honestly doesn't understand the priority pick process. I think its the latter as its not the first time he's made a dill of himself.

I was listening to that original conversational last week and I sent an SMS in basically saying your point too.

Greg didn't seem to understand your point, which is just really dumb, cause you are obviously spot on. Without priority picks, the first few picks in the draft would have been the same order anywayz.
