Anybody hear Billy Brownless voice this morning on the morning show, it was shocking, but fair enough too.
Also had Billy driver who been doing for a while, he done a good job looking after Billy the last few days

I loved it at 6am when Tim announced that Billy couldn't make it today, so they got Frank Costa in to replace him...

i don't find him funny either.

if we go back through the old posts (say 2 years ago) there are many ppl bagging hardy being on the run home. i think at that stage it was hudo, dermie (and his long winded questions) and hardy.

from memory someone asked how he got the job, and whether it was because SEN were plucking ppl from the street

I wasn't blogging on here back then, but I did hear that management thought at the time that a journo/presenter, ex footballer and a comedian made a good mix... how wrong they were. I used to just cringe at some of the things he'd say and questions he'd ask sportspeople they'd interview.

Hardy left to go work on TV, wasn't replaced, then Dermie left cause he wasn't paid and was replaced by the Ox, and then Frank came on to replace Huddo. I used to love Huddo, but I reckon Frank has added something extra.

yeah his knowledge of a variety of sports is good.

dermie was shocking. i couldnt handle his "i love myself and sound so smart" attitude. even billy made a joke about it this year.

hey dudes i think the money they saved on world sport overnight is being spended in the foyer i walked past the other day and they are painting and putting down polished wood

whats wrong with seagrass matting dudes its good enough for my garage

Haha if that is true crannypeter that sucks.
Surely they could have waited for the possibility that ratings continued to rise so they wouldn't need to get rid of WSO and then renovate the place later.

Cost Cutting ???
I thought they were cost cutting so thats why no Matt Granland with the back pages of the papers before M Glory just replays and no Sport Overnight.
Yet they had some guy on who was still telling us scores from the rugby and soccer so how is it cost cutting this guy cant be sitting there for nothing.
The replays are becoming a pain and I only put up with them from about 5 o clock onwards but still shocking choice of replays to hear Andy Maher reminding us more than once that Len Thompsons was going to be buried today
Sure his family would have loved being reminded of that or was last fridays funeral just a rehearsal.

5aa here in Adelaide have an overnight program and only pay the presenter. If the presenter wants someone to answer calls then they have to do it volunteer....

Why can't they do that???

Hey as someone who's just moved to Melbourne for uni this year and has been listening for most of the footy season what changes now that the footy is over.
Are there new shows as all there seems to be at the moment is footy footy footy. Are there cricket shows coming ect.

after sending text after text about no WSO anymore I finally got one read out on air. Steve from the american show read out my text last night saying it was a shocking decision by the mgt but what was better was he even said he agreed with me on the air and said he thought it was a shocking decision as well.
Steve dont know his second name but finally someone had the guts to say on air about WSO being flicked and at least he had the guts to read a criticising text.Others at night havent bothered to read texts or acknowledge us listeners who listen to WSO for so long and want to complain

Hey as someone who's just moved to Melbourne for uni this year and has been listening for most of the footy season what changes now that the footy is over.
Are there new shows as all there seems to be at the moment is footy footy footy. Are there cricket shows coming ect.

You've gotta expect that given that this is Melbourne and the footy season has literally just finished.

Next couple of weeks won't be any easier since there's trade week coming up soon.

They crank up the horse racing talk a fair bit (which I always hate) for the Spring Carnival.

Cricket season obviously gets a fair run once the test series starts, as does the tennis when the Open is on.

A-League also gets good coverage over the summer.

Content significantly drops over the off-season of AFL. I think their ratings in the past few years drop about 30-40% during the off season, and that'll probably be the same or higher given they had more listeners due to AFL coverage.

I've listened to the run home a bit this week, and i have to say that the Ox is quite entertaining as a person. I dont know where his wit has come from, but he's actually making quite a few jokes, and on a similar level to Francis. Well done to him.

My mistake. I assumed you were someone from up over the border

Essentially, the answer is no. The hosts stay the same for the main weekday spots.

KB starts crapping on about golf alot (more than he does already)
Boran just keeps crapping on about whatever
Ox and Francis were quite good last summer. Gave the Victory alot of coverage.
Not sure what Finey will be like.

Over the weekend there are a few new shows (obviously with the footy no longer being broadcasted). I think the Four Diego's (soccer) have a spot, and there's an American sports show as well.

I think they have decreased the bandwidth so not as many people can listen.
I checked it last night and it connected first time.
I hope i'm wrong but it looks to be the case.
