bloody hell, i just checked out the Shield's wiki page... the final season won't be aired until september!! i'm dying for the finale goddamnit!!

I am ashamed that high quality shows such as the Shield, The Sopranos (an now it looks like lost aswel) can't find a real timeslot in this country while low-brow trash like gladiators and border security, and whatever cr@p channel 9 is currently serving up continues to rate. Good to see people here appreciate the quality that is the shield

Just finished watching season 6 in two days. Best show on TV. Season didn't run long enough though. Going to be an agonising long wait to view season 7.

I've never really been able to get into The Shield ... not that it's bad or anything (faaaaar from it if the three episodes I've seen are anything to go by), but I never know when it's on care of the ****wits that run TV in this country. Never been able to keep up with it sadly, I've only been able to see the odd episode here and there but without the benefit of seeing them all you miss the main parts of the story.

But luckily the good folk at JB Hifi have got the first four seasons on sale for just $16 at the moment , so I bought the first season the other day. Once I finish the second season of The West Wing, only got a disc to go, I'll start on this. Really looking forward to seeing what I've been missing out on.

You should watch some of The West Wing. Doesn't have the action of a show like The Shield, obviously, but f**k me. The quality of the writing and the stories is as good as anything that's ever been made.

It is a show I'm planning to watch properly at some point. Does look very good.

Nobody is paying out on The Shield at all. It is a good show, but to say nothing else comes close is simply absurd.

Its like saying Kate Moss is the most beautiful woman that ever lived. She's very good at what she does, but is really only an average looking bird.

I'm not disputing the West Wing's greatness, in fact it's one of my favourite shows, but I don't see what that has to do with this thread. They're apples and oranges for a start, with absolutely nothing in common. This thread's about The Shield. It annoys me when people come on and clutter the thread with pissing contests about why X show is better than Y show. There are like a billion other threads for that sort of thing.

Just watched the first episode... Great stuff... Ronnie takes a bit of a dark turn and Billings makes a humorous return. I'm rapt the end is finally here, it's been building for so bloody long. I honestly have no idea how this all going to pan out, but I'm certain it's gonna be great.

BTW, has anyone else ordered Season 6 off Amazon? I'm expecting mine sometime next week. I just wish I had a chance to watch it before the start of season 7. I felt a bit lost as it'd been so long since I'd seen the last episode.
