About to start again at S1, E01 to introduce my mrs to the Shield. Would have comfortably seen all 7 seasons at least half a dozen times, but am still pumped to get into it again. The greatest series ever made IMHO.
 
Finished it tonight and I feel a loss.

Incredible series. I disliked Mackie from the start but warmed to him and was even hoping for his redemption in the last 2-3 seasons. I enjoyed the contrast of Mackie believing he was a family man and do anything for his family against the final scenes of Shane with his family, who was there, really there... excluding the final play. That was just sad.*

Shit, such a heavy show. Mackie WAS a superhero weaving everyone out of trouble, but into more... Halfway through season 6 I believed in him and believed he could escqpe it all. If only that call got through to Shane before the Armaniens were hit it all could have gone different.

On Ronnie, I thought the actor was rubbish, as was the character... Then again perhaps the actor wasnt given much in the first 5 season to play with.. Either way he never gelled for me.

Where was Billings in the first 3 or 4 seasons? Loved his role.

Only finished the final season 10 minutes ago so these are random thoughts, perhaps more later.
 
Bought the box set 2-3 years ago. I had never ever seen an episode till about a month ago, since then I have watched all 88 episodes.

I'm imagining Michael Jace's character murdering his wife on the show, given his personal demons and violent tendencies.

We're told cops are angry it took Children's Services 4 hours to get to the station and take the kids to the home of a family member where they could be comforted. Jace is being booked for murder."

Just finished this (finally), god damn what a show. Few times I felt physically sick during the last season, can't remember any other shows doing that to me. Shane & family's exit in the 2nd last ep, jeeeezus reckon I just sat there looking at the screen for 2 minutes after it finished.

Top 5 of all time, easy.
 
Started and finished this over the last three weeks. Excellent series, but not one of the greats. Felt like certain characters could have served bigger subplots to Vic and his team, such as Dutch and killing the cat. While other characters seemed to come and then just disappear without any real explanation or conclusion. The likes of Tavon, Rawlings and the female lawyer in season 5 kind of just disappeared without any real follow up.
