Kurt Sutter shows yet again that he has the sickest mind on The Shield's writing staff with a typically bloody episode from him.

Good episode, if a little predictable. The "having Corrine see Carlson watching the apartment" thing was really lazy writing. The stuff with Billings was pretty good, and the plot points setting up the impending Armenians vs Mexicans gang war were well done.

The Mara/Corrine alliance is an interesting twist, and might end up tying in to the new female FBI agent in some way.

Ronnie is so cool. Shane continues to dig his own grave yet he's such a bad-arse and manages to stay one step ahead of a bullet.

Try not to post spoilers too guys. Not everyone has watched it yet and some won't watch it for a long time.

Go Ronnie:p

Watched it with another shield loving mate last night. Awesome:thumbsu:

The Billings comeback was just gold.

God I love this show. I said at the time that Season 5 was the best season of a TV show you'd ever see. Somehow they've managed to maintain this quality for two whole seasons. Not only that, they've improved on it!

Shane is starting to get very dark. Especially with that last scene in this weeks episode. "The worst part is they think I was too stupid to realise"

I really like that Vick couldn't go through with it, continually adding depth to his character even this late in the series.

What season are they showing on telly?

I got so sick of them being so sporadic with the timeslot that I ended up downloading most of the series, and have seen everything up to the end of Season 6

Looks like I have a bit of catching up to do though, as I see Ep6 and 7 of Season 7 are available!

I only have Ep1 and 2 of S7 though ... but not for long!

Just watched episode 7. The ending was brilliant. I really hope Ronnie doesn't die at the hands of some gangster thug and I have faith that the writers won't let it happen. I think Ronnie might take a bullet but he's such a bad arse that he'll take Two Time down and find out it was Shane who ordered the hit. Maybe then he'll go after Shane directly and without Vic.

It shows how smart Shane is too by going after Ronnie. He knows that Ronnie won't hesitate to put a bullet in him given the opportunity. Ronnie is methodical and doesn't have the compassion that Vic has nor does he have any family to worry about.

I said to a mate before the start of S7 that I wouldn't be surprised at all if Vic forgave Shane and it was Ronnie who wound up killing him.

just watched episode 8--- Spoilers ahoy!!

Bloody Hell!!!!

The end game is finally here... So much happened in this episode. This was probably the best Shield episode after the season five finale.

Mackey quits the force and most importantly, Shane is outed for setting up the hit on Gardocki and Vic...

I loved the look of resignation on Shane's face as that shooter spilled the beans on who told him to shoot Ronnie. That sequence where the team find out it was Shane as he makes a hasty exit from the Barn was seat of the pants stuff. Everything that they've been trying to keep quiet is finally going to surface, warts and all.

With Shane on the run, Vic no longer a cop, I have no idea how this is all going to play out in the last five episodes, except to say that no one is getting out of this in one piece.

God, next week can't get here soon enough!!!

Episode 8 comments to follow...

Great moment with Two-Man giving up Shane and him leaving the building. Best "holy. shit!" moment on this show since Pezuela gave Vic the Aceveda blowjob photo.

That felt very much like a penultimate episode, and yet there's 5 more to go. So there's plenty of stories to finish up (hopefully the writers don't muddy the waters by adding anything else to the mix). Possible threads to clear up, besides the obvious? (And I have no spoiler knowledge whatsoever; I'm just speculating).

One, I'm not convinced that we've seen the end of the Armenians. (And if we have, I'll be pissed off, because as it stands, it's way too neat and tidy). Diro is still out there somewhere and she knows exactly what Vic and Shane have been up to. And we've already seen a few 'blasts from the past' so far this season.

Two, surely Aceveda having his rapist killed in prison is gunna come back to bite him somehow. And three, we didn't see/hear anything about Danny after her packing in her house the previous ep. I'm not sure how they're going to make her story become anything other than a footnote.

I'm liking how this is going so far. Fingers crossed that the writers don't find a way to stuff it up now.

Corinne said she's taking the kids out of Vics life. Maybe Danny taking her son out of Vics life as well would push him over the edge and make him kill Shane.

I was shitting myself when Vic and Ronnie were chasing Shane.

I don't see how Shane organising a hit on Ronnie isn't enough motivation in and of itself. On top of that, Vic realised that Shane was probably waiting at his house to kill him ("...or he needed someone to kill you, because he was waiting to kill me").

I hope there's another way Danny gets linked into the main story, but at the moment I just can't see it.

Latest ep sucked. If the writers think that we're going to believe that they'd off Vic or Shane with 4 episodes to go, or that Mara and Shane would split up, they're insulting our intelligence. No suspense whatsoever in this ep.

A couple of reviews I've read though of the last finale are really positive, so hopefully this boring filler/setup is worth it.

Last weeks episode was just setting things up for the run home. It needed a week of set up.

Doesn't mean it didn't suck. Felt like one of those lame-arse episodes of a procedural show where they have "will the main character die?!?!!" plot lines.

Didn't feel that way to me. It's more like the clock is counting down faster towards the end. No one expects Vic or Shane to die a month before the finale.

There was plenty of tension in this episode. Vic waiting for Shane at the hospital was tense. Mara telling Corrine that Vic was waiting for them at the hospital was great because Corrine is still learning how ruthless Vic really is. I loved Ronnie sitting down with Claudette. For a second I thought he was going to rat everyone out but Ronnie is the bomb and he showed just how close he is to Vic and how much he wants Shane to die by telling those lies to Claudette. We also saw a soft side of Ronnie with him not wanting Mara to die. And Mara is a great character too. She has so many similarities to Shane in that she seems like a complete trainwreck but is actually very smart and cool under pressure.

And what do people think of Dutch? His scenes with the mother have been terribly uncomfortable to watch. He's being creepy and should stick to doing his job by the book I think. Right now he's reminding me of the Dutch that strangled the cat!

Billings on the other hand is awesome. He's a dodgy bastard but we've seen during seasons 6 and 7 that he's good hearted and an excellent detective when he wants to be.
