to the OP, if you've liked it so far, just wait for season 5

season 5 is amazeballs, but season 2 finale is incredible and there's plenty before during and after

Yeh he was great, those IAD episodes were some of the best in the shows run.

This was a great show, I just watched it mostly due to Walton Goggins being in it. The constant momentum, action and tension were superb. Yeah it was fairly unbelievable, but that is fine as it was consistent throughout. In the show's world I believed all of the storylines, except perhaps the end of season 6 with the magical box. Season 7 is the greatest final season of a TV show I have seen, once all bets were off and it became clear the Strike Team were going down it became even more amazing. Shane and Mara's Bonnie and Clyde life on the run were some of the best scenes during the shows run. Season 5 was the next best season. Seasons 4 and 6 were my least favourite, despite Glenn Close. Asides from Season 7 I really didn't enjoy Shane being out of the Strike Team.

Character thoughts:
Vic: Absolute arsewipe. I never warmed to him, in Season 1 he was such a cocky bastard at the Barn that I couldn't like him. As his bullshit grew and grew throughout the seasons it was amazing seeing him try to convince himself of what he was doing. His confession is one of the greatest scenes ever.
Shane aka Cletus van Damme: Goggins is a genius, as I said I watched this because of him from Justified. He is a great actor, and what a tragically stupid character. His "oh shit" face in season 7 is a great example of non-verbal acting.
Ronnie: What a stud. Absolutely nothing character for five seasons, asides from his facial hair, and the actor wasn't particularly impressive either. But then he just became completely awesome and ice cold to almost steal the show for the last couple of seasons. "Asian throw pillow" lmao.
Lem: Another very sad character, and of course season 5 was shattering.
The Strike Team was great because all of the characters were so different.
Acaveda: What a shit bloke. I really didn't enjoy his season 4 arc, post **** sucking. He sort of faded out once he left the Barn, even though they tried to keep him central to the story he stopped grabbing me after season 3.
Claudette: One of the greatest female characters in TV history. Her n-word speech was greatness.
Dutch: Such an interesting character with many shades of grey. He could have become even better if they explored his darkness even further.
Billings: Best thing about season 6, once Forest Whittaker left the show. Very reliable comic relief. "Bitchdyke lawyer" was some of his best work.
Danni: Bit of a humourless, judgemental bitch. But considering her job that is understandable.
Julien: His gay storyline didn't especially interest me, I think that type of character is a bit dated now. It would have been more interesting watching live. Bt once they removed that storyline he became a nothing character, asides from being the only moral street-level cop.
Tevon: He was smooth and very cool. He was a good character because of what he revealed about Shane.
Cassidy: Absolutely terrifying as she grew into a physical monster.
Mara: Sexy and crazy. Great combo. She came into her own in season 7.
Dee (sexy car jacker): Her scenes with Aceveda were great fun, and she was smoking hot.
Doomsday: Most bad arse gangster in the show, cutting off dog's heads to mess with people.
Van Bro: Solid funny character.
Kavannagh: Great character work from a great actor, he helped make season 5 so great, and season 6 noticeably suffered once he left.

Music was strong throughout, as mentioned previously great use of Disarm by the Smashing Pumpkins, also Johnny Cash's I Hung My Head at the start of season 6 was also superb.

What it comes down to is if you like seeing people get constantly owned, watch this show. It happens about 20 times per episode.

This x 1000

I sorta wish in those last couple of seasons post Lem that they worked in a couple of flashback eps to when the strike team was cranking and all was good in the world. Co-pilot in season 2 and the miniep between sea 5 and 6 (wins and losses) are two of my favourite shield moments for that reason.

Couldn't rate the seasons, loved them all

Great write up mate:thumbsu:.Claudette character was written for a man when CC ponder read the role she said leave it the way it is.I couldnt think of a man actor playing that role with the relationship with dutch.Forrest and Glen close were also good as expected.

I always thought Dutch's character might go more into his inner darker side
Especially after spoiler -----> strangling that cat in whatever season that happened in

Still one of my favourite series of all time

That is some interesting trivia. Great point about the Dutch relationship, it is pretty rare for a male and female character who are that close to show zero sexual tension on TV. They almost became mother and son, with Claudette looking out for Dutch for the first few seasons, and then it flipping to Dutch helping Claudette out once her disease started affecting her.

It is the greatest finale episode I've seen period.

Some of the middle seasons are a bit hit and miss for mine. But the Amadillo season (season 2 I think?) was 10/10 for me, equal to any season of The Wire, Sopranos etc.

Haha yeah I thought so too! Like he was going to become the next Dexter.

Late bump I realise but watched the first 3 seasons in a week. 4,5 and 6 are prepped.

Make sure you check back in once you finish Season 5.

I had a glimpse at a few pages then realised Im better off just leaving it till after. Crackingly addictive show.
I was just recently thinking about getting the whole series again, and starting from scratch after seeing an episode (from season 4, maybe) on Foxtel the other day

Great show, but think they stopped it at just the right time
