Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

Yep, tho you have to admit the timing ended up being perfect. Everything had really started turning to shit (for certainly not the last time). You prepared yourself for the shitstorm to come, and then here's this awesome little episode about the formation of the team.

Hope they do another, mainly just for more Lem

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

Binxy, did you ever see the webisode that came out before the last series, Wins and Losses? Where it has the flashback of Lem winning the arm wrestling comp against the massive dude

"He's all meat and no hard"

He had a bung shoulder at the time but did it for the team regardless. That was brilliant, the team at their peak.

I live in hope they'll do another flashback episode that showed the team back in the good times, Lem included:(.

One of my favourite ep's is the flashback episode about the formation of Farmington, if only to see Vic and Shane in suits:D.
No, I'm only 3 eps into series 6 atm.

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

Well I finsiehd the 3 seasons in a week (almost exactly to the minute). Now I'm left with nothing until the season 4 DVD gets reduced (seeing as how I'm such a cheap ass).

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

Sopranos-Cant take a mafia don who has a speech impediment seriously-especially one who sees a shrink
West Wing-Great show-did all seven series in a month
Deadwood-Very good.
The Wire-Too slow for my liking

The Shield shits on them all. Walton Goggins (Shane) is the best actor on TV ATM.

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

Can't wait for Season 5. Dumbass Ch Ten.
You like The Shield and you haven't seen it?

Get it on DVD or download it or something. You HAVE to watch it in order and properly. You will be blown away.

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

Can't say that I have. I dunno what you're referring to.

There's just something about his voice that means I just cant take him seriously. I've tried and tried to watch this show but I just imagine being fitted for concrete shows by Tony and not being able to stop smirking and giggling every time he said soemthing.

he might be referring to the fact that channel 10 started screening series 5 earlier this year then took it off after about half a dozen episodes.
would love to download certain series but takes about a week on my computer:eek:

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

I find Vic Mackay pretty hard to take seriously considering Chiklis is a dwarf and used to be The Commish :p
He's also The Thing :p

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

The Shield is an awesome show I've got all of the seasons released so far.

But.... Oz is the best Tv show ever! believe that.

Armadillo was the best thing the writers on that show have done.

Armadillo was fairly freaking awesome. The whole face-on-the-hot-stove scene was just amazing.

Having said that, the best thing on the show was the Forest Whitaker character, who's name escapes me right now. That guy was intense.

And what about Antwon? For a fat comedian, that guy is one scary mother:thumbsu:

Jon Kavanagh. Amazing acting performance.

Re: For those who haven't seen The Shield...

The whole ending with Armadillo was an anti climax for me I thought it would be Vic that would finish him he was an excellent character though.

I know what you mean, but I like the fact that it was Shane who stepped in. At that point Vic was done and dusted and ready to face the slammer, but it was Shane who pulled him out of the fire. It was probably the only thing that Shane has done in this series that didn't go completely balls up. Maybe that's cos Lem was involved too...

Yeah he was okay, just thought that Anthony Anderson reeeeeally over-acted some of his stuff. Same with Whitaker and Kavanaugh, but at least with him, the character was supposed to be sorta hyper and all over the place.

Danny Pino just played Armadillo so well.
