The 2020 AFL season is on pause and, while there are far bigger things at play in the world, we ultimately need our football fix. Missing out on watching footy then chatting shit about it doesn't work for me, and I'm willing to bet it doesn't work for you. So let's do something about it.

Credit to ashley12 and DanWCE for building this idea.

The Plan: Every week, we vote on a classic match that the board would like to watch between the Eagles and our regularly scheduled opponent. On the scheduled game day, the match (or as many clips as can be sourced) are uploaded onto YouTube and into our 'game day' thread. From there, it's business as usual. Watch the game, comment along with the board, share your post match review, walk wistfully down memory lane. In general, take a few hours for yourself and get your much needed dose of football.

For example, this week we would have been playing St Kilda. Over the next few days, the board will vote on a classic West Coast Eagles vs St Kilda game for us to all enjoy on Sunday. Will it be the Round 8 2016 beat down at Subiaco? The Round 11 2013 comeback, featuring the most unlikely of heroes? Round 22 1987, where the club recorded its then highest ever score? Round 15 1990, where the WACA witnessed one of the largest turnarounds in Eagles history? Or another classic fixture between the sides? It's up to you.

We're going to get through this, people, one classic match at a time.

Wish Fox Footy would go ahead and use the exact fixture up until we can play again ( If that happens). Then on a Monday put a poll up for everyone to choose their fav match v that opponent for it to be shown at the exact times that the fixture had it over the weekended.

For instance this Friday night have a classic Tigers v Pies match on and between breaks have past players and current commentators give their thoughts and memory's from the match chosen.

Maybe a poll added, can polls once posted be changed?

Round 2, 2017.

I can’t remember the game at all but I know we won. It’s memorable because it led to then Saints coach Alan Richardson using the phrase ‘noise of affirmation’ in a big sooky whinge about the free kick differential in our favor at home games. Good memories.

Yeah, I'll add a poll tomorrow, just want to give everyone a chance to add in their suggestions. Otherwise people may vote then not check the updated poll.

Ridiculous they haven't thought of anything like this hey. Without even attempting to get us to tune in how do they expect we'll keep paying for the sport option over a winter with literally no new sport?

I can watch the V8 Eseries on FTA if that's all that will be available.

I have dim memories of Troy Wilson barrelling through St Kilda.

I know he did that quite a bit to various teams, but I'm sure there was a game against St Kilda where he did it even more than usual.

Failing that, the Mackenzie game.
I checked his stats and he kicked 7.5 vs Saints in 2001.

Wouldn't mind seeing that.

Le Dozen has to get a mention v Essendon.

Started from no hope to some hope to laughing my ass off.

The 9 goal comeback v Geelong at Skilled in 2006 as well.

A season of comebacks sounds alright, actually. Did we pants the Bulldogs from some ridiculous losing position as well? 50+ down?

And who could forget 2018 v Pies, the ultimate come from behind!

Saints led all game until the last five minutes because surprise, they couldn't kick straight.
