you have to admit we get plenty of slow news days

if anyone here can understand chinese, they have news from afghanistan and tajikistan - where theres a war going on

did anyone here even know there was a war on in tajikistan?

stuff like that makes it onto the chinese news service because those places are china's central asian neighbours

Aircraft mishaps are always a good one. If there is a major crash, there will be a number of smaller, piss-ant air related stories for weeks after. Fear sells.
Have a read of Influence by Cialdini. He has stats that show major air crashes increase the rate of other air crashes for a time.
