Maybe I'm just hoping it's an act but I had lunch with Mark Waugh and his wife Kim at the races a few weeks back and he was nothing like the way he sounds on tv.

Mark Waugh was my favourite cricketer as a kid. I just loved his casual approach to batting and he was an awesome fielder too. He could catch bullets standing at 2nd slip.

If a reporter was that offended by Gayle (be it male or female) and asked their employer they'd prefer not to interview him on those grounds I reckon they'd comply.

I reckon they'd comply on saying `you don't have to do it', but as for not having an interview done, I am pretty much entirely unconvinced that they wouldn't just sub in someone else and do the interview sans the reporter that objected, which would be a net loss for said reporter.

Compare radio hosts or journalists not normally in front of cameras - male and female - to those in front of cameras. from journalists to TV and movie stars, unless you got your face in before everything was so superficial (eg the everlasting Laurie 'Jabba' Oakes), or you are a comedian, you don't see many ugly people on TV.

I remember seeing an episode where he submitted a semen sample and when he was told the reason it had a low sperm count was most likely because he may have had sex in the past 24 hours he looked at the camera with a "yeahhhhh" look. Utter frontgutter.

If people didn't defend the ****head then we wouldn't be going on about it still. The problem is that there are still some people on this planet that think it is ok to sexually harass people and that the victim should just lighten up or be flattered. Yes there is more tragic news but no one is defending other indefensible behaviour.

About 15-20 years ago I started noticing how dumb and incompetent auto-queue readers ie news, sports, weather readers, were, when they were involved in a one on one interview or involved in a panel discussion. They struggle to construct a coherent sentence. I don't know if that is a prerequisite for the job, or it becomes an occupational hazard. They were clear and forceful when reading the news etc but 180 degree opposite when having to think on their feet.
