Do you know exactly how women feel? If you don't, then yes your opinion is invalid. If you do you're lying because none of us will ever know or understand life as a female.

There is no need to know or understand 'life as a female'. How about simply just life as a human being? I know how I'd feel if someone devalued my worth on national television and started talking about something completely irrelevant to the subject at hand, and that's enough to make a comment on it.

Granted, there are some special, extenuating circumstances that affect women and only women, but for the most part everyone is just trying to get through the same life as everyone else. So whether you're male, female, black, white, gay or straight - respect others with the same respect you would like to be afforded. No one is asking for emotional handouts - just consideration of the other sides point of view. It's call empathy, and it's something that is sorely lacking in today's society.

It's really not that hard.

That 100 on debut (including 100 off his own bat in the final session) at Adelaide Oval was enough for to fap for life over his batting.

Toby Thurstans had 1 good innings too dingle

Nah bollocks if someone said I was hot and asked me out on national TV I'd be stoked to be honest. Would I think that devalued my worth. Nah.

But maybe its because I'm not hot, or shallow.

She does naked pics and is the highest paid in her film, she also gets plenty more work than the men in the film that can actually act.

I think she has done a lot better from not having one.
Jennifer Lawrence acts just fine. Who are these hard-done by, underworked, male co star, acting giants you write of besides Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro? Are Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Liam Hemsworth perhaps not getting any work. Carn.

Is she not? They aren't complaining that they don't get paid because they don't have a vagina. Don't change the argument.

And if you have watched the Hunger games and considered her acting worth 26 million, then we will never agree on anything.

Don't give a toss if we agree or not - have whatever opinion you want comrade.
But in general, in society, men are still paid more for the same work than women, this was the point JL was making.

Maybe try watching some of her other movies... like maybe the one she won an oscar for?

Again, moving the discussion from her being paid for shit acting.

No, she made it specific to her. That's my point.

As for your 'in general' point. It doesn't really hold up to real scrutiny when all circumstances are brought in.

Just a question, and don't want to be abused, but how do hot girls that use their looks to hook up and 'seek' a life with a successful man fit into this conversation? Girls that look for money based on others success by flaunting?

Some women do some women don't...

In this incident with Gayle...the female reporter was trying to do her job professionally while Gayle was being his usual douche self....

Its not wrong for a man to hit on a woman...but that was neither the time or the place for something like that...

But to her credit she should come out better for it as she handled it perfectly and her career opportunities should be stronger for it...

Good points.
Does society in general, in any way, take responsibility for an individual's actions?

No....

But if nothing is done and no stance taken....

Racism would be rife ....

Women would be in the kitchen....

Kids would be working in coal mines....

Ehh you get the point...

Your point is understood and appreciated.

****boys sharing posts about "double standards" of some Today host hitting on a guy at the beach on my Facebook, all the while missing the entire point.

Not only is objectification of men not a cultural issue but what I don't understand is why people must set up camp against people saying what Gayle did was not on?

Why can't you just look at it and think - well, this isn't alright. I won't try to dig up some perceived double standard because we'll deal with that when it comes. For now, I'll just condemn Gayle's actions for being wrong.

Especially when several female reporters have come out and said they deal with these things daily off camera, and Gayle has a history on and off the camera basically harrassing female reporters. It's clearly an issue in male dominated industries and judging by the response, our society in general.

Stop trying to make it into something it isn't and make out like all men are victims of an incident where a female reporter was hit on in her place of work.

This.

Put it up on FB and find out who your true friends are.

Think you missed my point. How a woman feels is going to widely differ depending on who she is. None of us can really generalise on one sex's opinion. All I know is if I worked my arse off to get to that position and was basically subjected to embarrassment on national tv by a man or a woman then I wouldn't have been to impressed.

I was getting at the point that if we as guys don't have an opinion then it wont change.

Janus hit the nail on the head with his reply.

She was top billed and top paid before Sutherland, Harrelson, Hemsworth, Seymour Hoffman, all males and also acting talents that I would consider better than herself.

She's in absolutely no position to complain about sexism in Hollywood.

I'd imagine that a lot of these dudes would've been rejected by a woman in the past and subsequently have a massive chip on their shoulder. I'm sure we all know people who have had one bad experience and then proceed to hold the entire opposite sex in very low regard as a result.
