Internet forums tend to gather some very interesting characters with very interesting or non-existent social lives which leads them to treat female posters like a common webcam whore. Completely unacceptable, and it's always pissed me off. I have usually refrained from commenting because you would quickly cop abuse from those same people about being a "white knight" or some other supposed emasculating term, as if it's some sort of community sanctioned right to go "gaww gee love your dp, inbox me baby xoxo"

It's really not that hard to be attracted to a woman and not say incredibly immature and sexist things.

It's the same take home message as the Adam Goodes thing - if Portia finds certain comments to be offensive then they are offensive, regardless of whether they were meant to be or not. That is reason enough to think twice next time you make a post in the sort of vein Portia is referring to.

Unfortunately the internet is a cesspool of lowest common denominator drivel. It gives a lot of people a voice who maybe shouldn't have a voice. I find this board to be generally very inclusive and inoffensive by comparison to much of the rest of the stuff you come across on the internet. That's not to say it couldn't be better, but it's fairly well self-moderated in a lot of ways.

That's what I'd like to know. Just before Portia questioned my intelligence in a comment (I still don't know why she wrote it, it's like she couldn't give a proper response so resorted to put downs like most people would do when they lose an argument), It didn't offend me at all but what if it had? If I complained to the mods would they remove the comment? What if the person she had replied to had dyslexia or some mental handicap? They'd probably feel bad after reading the comment that Portia wrote to me.

Just a reminder for those that have forgotten, the entirety of what has been asked in this thread is that

a) you not drop sexist jibes all over the place
b) when you talk about women, you treat them like people rather than an excuse for whey-hey-hey nudge-nudge one-liners.

If you think what is being said doesn't match that, and you're offended by it, absolutely report it. If you are genuinely honestly offended by something that I post that is particularly sensitive for you, like dyslexia, and I hear about it through PM or via report, I will apologise to you - I'm not here to hang shit on people having a tough time, and I'd hope that very few people are.

But here's the thing, you've just provided a mild example that you've already said you're not offended by. So why are you even talking about it?

After reading all of this thread is it wrong that I haven't noticed a single female poster on here until reading this thread?

I always assume we are all just Port fans whether it be male/female voicing our opinions on Port Adelaide and a few other things here and there.

Here's the thing though that post was in reply to another post which was in reply to another post etc etc if you went back all the way to where I first started to post in this thread you'd see that mostly everything that I had wrote was relevant to the discussion. It was only in discussions with Raman that it ended up where it did
