Haha the feminists will be out in full force in the media tonight and tomorrow after Chris Gayle's interview on the boundary line a couple of minutes after he got out and spoke to Mel McLaughlin. .... " so I could talk to you baby." Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Dont blush baby."

She went bright red. I think it was Fleming who said something like .... Chris Gayle dominating both on and off the field... after he made 41 in just 15 balls inc 2 dot balls.

Howie toeing the Network 10 party line and saying what Gayle said is not appropriate for dealing with a professional like Mel. Despite the fact he laughed at the comment at the time. Made some comment it has been addressed.

on queue that mole Bec Wilson!.

that interview was pure entertainment, which is exactly who C Gayle is... If you don't follow him on twitter I suggest you do. Very funny person.

Twitter has gone beserk - the commentators have shut right up - it's going to be front page news

Haha rather than Howie's stupid "hefted" trending, this is a worthy twitter trending.

Jesus, the bloody fun police are at it again. Wonder if it would have been the same if a netball player had made an off-the-cuff remark to a male sports caller? Compare the results when Jamie Briggs made remarks to a female staffer and when Jacquie Lambie made remarks on radio about her taste in men and their "size".

Georgie Parker summed it perfectly

Next time I get interviewed by a male I'll do a Chris Gayle, and I'm fairly sure no one would blink an eye lid.. Let's calm our farms people
I thought it was the actress Georgie Parker so I clicked on the twitter link. I love her little description of herself

"Hockeyroo #19, but mostly known for my Gold Logie winning performances in All Saints, A Country Practice and Home & Away. Instagram: georgie_parks "

At the risk of incurring the wrath of the feminists ;), in my humble opinion that is a fairly plain looking group of girls in the pic with Bravo and Gale, posted by RustyCage.

Re Gale hitting on Mel, some would find it a tad on the funny side, others not so much.

Channel Ten's explanation for belittling a player who was just making what he thought was a funny comment, this is a family program. Note to channel Ten, I did not notice the furore till it was brought up, if you were so concerned about kids you should just have said nothing.
Interviews that are done just as a player has come off the field have always had a bit of the unknown about them, the players are so pumped that they sometimes don't stick to a script.

It was cringe worthy at best but mostly embarrassing for Gayle.

I thought Mel McLaughlin handled it extremely well when she should have taken the opportunity to shove the microphone down his throat via that gaping crevice where his teeth hover.

I'm not the most politically correct person around in fact most would consider me the opposite but that was just yuck.

Neandrathals who are trying to defend Gayle need to realise that there is a time and a place for doing shit like that, and it's not in front of a camera on live television with someone who is trying to do their job in a professional manner. He basically reduced her worth as a sports commentator to how good looking she is.

When Mel was fronting the A-League coverage on Fox I never saw any player embarrass themselves or her like that. Actually, the only time I saw her flustered was when she interviewed David Beckham...

Was completely unnecessary as she was just trying to do her job and was demeaned whilst doing so.
If he wants to ask her out do so afterwards where she can give him an appropriate answer at an appropriate time. Not when she's working ffs!

Out of order Gayle!

Yeah but to be fair there'd be plenty of fanbois that would blow their load in the presence of Bex.

Given channel 10's stance on this I expect the batchelor program not to go to air this year.

double standards anyone!!

That is the worst comparison I have ever heard on any subject.

5aa is getting the full spectrum from both callers

With tom rehn just there agreeing with everyone

*sigh* Going into a situation expecting to be judged on your sexual attractiveness and compatibility with a partner is significantly different from going into an interview expecting to have legitimate questions answered and instead being flirted with.

As I said, there's a time and a place for such things...and that was neither. If he legitimately wanted to ask her out, do it after the game off camera.
