Advanced hair.... ha ha ha aaaaah... but seriously, folks, the Kobe IV is a beast of a shoe... heaps lighter than the Ambassador and way more cushioning. I'm wearing them now (POP colourway, nice!) and they are really, really comfy. Either that or Hyperizeseses

Oh no you di ent.

Yeah i'm thinking the Kobe IV. A friend of mine can get me 30% off at footlocker too which would be sweet considering they're $220. How much do you have them going for? (advertising ban?)

Nike's suggested retail is $220 which is what I stick to when doing pricing... Not a lot of margin in basketball shoes..

yeah that's what i thought. i'd need a fair bit of convincing to pay $220 for a pair of ball shoes but i'm guessing once i try them on i'll jizz everywhere and break some ankles.

That's pretty much the line I'm taking... but if you can get 30%, take it every time bro

What do people think of the adidas TS Lightning Creator? It's Tracy McGrady's signature shoe, bought out sometime late last year. I've been wearing adidas (specifically the T-Mac range) for around 4 years (after being a long-time Nike wearer), and after wearing it for the past 6 months or so (cost me $220 at Foot Locker), I'd have to say this particular shoe is one of the most comfortable that I've ever worn. Even the T-Mac 4 (which I think is one of the best shoes ever made) had some trouble spots for me (caused blistering in the mid-foot for some reason). But this one is comfortable all over, and is much lighter than previous T-Mac-related models.

One of the worst shoes I've ever tried... Also, they were impossible to sell. The fit was horrible, I couldn't get them on a kid's foot let alone actually convince them to buy them. I got the low cut version (arenas' model) and have worn them exactly twice - the toebox is horrifically tight, the width is no where near wide enough for the average foot, the support base is logically flawed and the cushioning is non-existent. I sent all our stores supply of this back to adidas after nine months of it sitting on the shelf, not selling even at $149.95.

Adidas have a lot of work to do before hitting Nike's stratosphere in basketball shoes. Same with And1. any Nike shoe retailing at $140 is more technically advanced and better value than either an adidas or And1 at $200.

having gone on an anti-adidas rant, I'd still cop these, only for the collection.
I wear Dwights last year models and there nice, but a lil thin. Probably not the best for someone with a wide foot like I.

That said, I still like them, and the Timmys are an awesome desing.

I need a basketball shoe just for pick-up games so nothing serious, and I like my basketball shoes pretty basic so I've narrowed it down to the Adidas True Teams because I can import them from the US for ~$70, but I don't know whether to go for the lows or the mids?

I stick with adidas because they're the shoe that has always best fitted my foot and following that and I have grown an unnatural love for adidas superstars.

I'm leaning towards the mids simply because I don't think the low will have enough ankle support(?).

Mid ftw. Mainly because I have a strong dislike for Black shoes :p But lows are gay, Mids are always better

Not a fan of adidas basketball personally, but go with whatever works for you. Hightops don't offer any more support than low cuts (see a post I did in this thread earlier) as all the support comes from the midsole, but the mid won't hurt your feet. I wear high tops purely because I like the look of them better, which is totally lame, but the only way you'll guard against ankle injuries is strengthening yr ankles. Get on a wobble board, STAT!

Mid.

Low tops look too much like normal shoes which i don't like, but then again that's just me.
I wear the Kobe IV's and they're sweet but i don't like how they look like casual kicks.
