Might as well kick off the Grand Final thread now. It's only going to dominate the media more and more as the week progresses.

With no overwhelming sentimental favourite in this year’s decider, neutral followers are left with the question: which team do I dislike less?

It's not a terribly deep or insightful article but it did nail the dilemma we all face. Who out of these oh-no options do we want to win?
Or more to the point who do we most want to lose this Grand Final?

I'd rather Brisbane won but I'm not confident they will.

My care factor is that low that though I can go to the game I am tossing up whether I can be bothered.

If I do, the Lions, can't stand anything about the cats, though I do respect their attitude. If I was a cats supporter I would want them to do everything to ensure I am watching my team deep in September every year. I am not so hope they fail miserably

Is it possible no team wins. I hate the smugness of Scott and they got Bailey for way unders. He dumps it on the dogs when he can basically saying how much better it is at the cats, The lions got Dunkley for way unders and are going for 2 in a row.

If I have to choose, I would prefer the Lions.

I've decided to work on Saturday. It'll be the first GF I haven't watched I can remember. The last third of the season has just been so meh and alienating, once the VFL flag was won I just lost interest. There's something about watching the privileged clubs just operate on their own rules, watching free agents queue up to nominate contender clubs, that's jaded me, and that's before we talk about the fixture etc.

It's no coincidence that the red and black are swallowed up in internecine cannibalism, that St Kilda are once again going to try to crash their way through (and we can all see how its going to end), that North have an on-field leadership vacuum, that we have lost Dunkley, Smith and Ugle-Hagen one after the other. The Docklands-tenant clubs are trying to compete with one hand tied behind their backs. And no-one in the footy media wants to talk about it.

If one of those journos this trade period starts lecturing small clubs to stop getting in the way of their key personnel being traded to their requested powerful club, the 'just get the deal done and stop being obstructionist' mentality, I'll spew up.

Bring on next March, hopefully the zeal will flood back!
